Yes, we watched it late last night after a late dinner - gardening all day for once.
I expected the Street to be more hip-hoppy but agree it was a lively, vibrant dance and well-performed. I find contemproary dance can be very samey with the movements and lifts (like classic ballet which I find underwhelming) but I thought it was a good attempt and she did very well. Loved Oti's tango. She seems to have her horeography mojo back and he performed well. Danny's jive was amazing.
I liked Kate's Viennese (gorgeous dress too) but can see why Craig said it was mediocre. I didn't like the foxtrots, mostly because the music felt wrong to me and they were too fast. The whole point of foxtrot is that it is slow and measured and graceful and gives you time to do some moves and figures - like the difference between Viennese and slow or Engish waltz - and not full pelt like a quickstep.
I was pelased with the guest judge. He clearly knew his stuff and had done his homework and made some very good comments. He can guest again.

Yes, how could l forget about Danny's jive l remember thinking "At last, a jive with proper tempo". How he kept it up all the way through was amazing. I am ambivalent about Ashley and Pasha's rumba, l realised that l had spent the whole time watching Pasha, so had to go back and watch it again.

I kept thinking 'that man is only 8 years younger than me!' ... I've not jived like that (well, not as good as that, but at that tempo) since I was in my early 40s!!!
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
Had to google that. It looks a lot like what we call West Coast Swing - very fluid and flowing to a less manic tempo and much less tricky for knees and toes and stamina.
