Hmm, how to post without spoiling it! Glad the couple that was saved have got though to Blackpool, although l suspect they may go next week. The couple that did leave, all things considered, l am not surprised.

Well, it was better dancing that won out - again.   Whatever is the world coming to?

Liked Bruno's long winded reasoning as to why he voted the way he did !

    Worded to avoid obvious spoilers...
I think the professional was more upset than the celeb (surprisingly!).

Aunty Rach , I agree the professional dancer seemed genuinely upset 😥
  • Sorry don't agree, although entertaining, it was more like a keep fit routine.

It seems we can't just have a good dance perormed well any more.  We have to have a story but I suppose that's what you get for having a broad church of judges - two from musical theatre and videos background and a ballet dancer with only one ballroom expert.  Doesn't mean they can't judge, just are lookig for more than a dance.

Personally, I think a good salsa has enough going on and such a variety of armography that the gimmics aren't needed, nor the lifts, and a good samba has so much foot and body work going on it doesn't need gimmicks either or the tail feather synrome we so often see.   Horrendous costumes for both dances and hideous lighting for the salsa.

Maybe they should have a "no frills" dance category next year with basic steps and figures, simple frocks and suits and no fancy lighting gizmos.  Level playing field.

Oberlix , I think you would be in a minority with the GBP
    Thats entertainment 😉

A no frills dance would show the basic steps and technique and be much easier to judge objectively.   One for each couple out of the whole series would be instructive surely?  Not boring.

A big problem for me with Graeme and Oti's salsa was the "show" - dreadful costumes and lighting so bedazzling it was hard tosee what the dancers were doing at times.   Appalling mix of costume and direction failure which, I suspect, meant the GBP couldn't see the dance for the dazzle.
