I think a "No frills, show us the steps" dance would be a good idea. Can't decide if they should all do the same dance, or choose to play to their strengths. That and the contemporary dance should cover both ends of the spectrum. I see the celeb was "apparently" mad mouthing their dance partner afterwards, no idea how true that is.
    Still, onwards to Blackpool!

There were stories in the week about him bullying her and she apparently went to the producers and said she didn't want to dance with him any more.   Don't know if that's fake news or not.

Either way, he relied on his fitness and showmanship too much and didn't get the samba rhythm and bounce technique which, after wrong footing the routine last week shows a serious flaw in his ability to learn from his pro.  She may have been crying tears of relief as much as frustration.

That's very true. Hopefully if she comes back next year, they will try a pair her up with a nice partner who is willing to learn and doesn't think he already knows it all.
  • Wow.   I see some people have taken the Sun at their word and forgotten that rag is notorious for lying and sh*t-stirring.

Danny John Jules attends a lot of Red Dwarf conventions and is a fan favourite.  He's never been ripped apart by anyone before appearing in SCD.  Everyone has always said he's a nice bloke.

So maybe think about where you get your information before judging someone you don't know.

@LauraRoslin, l am not sure if you are directing those comments above to me, but if you care to look at my post, you will notice that l put the word "apparently" in quotes, which means l do take the article with a pinch of salt, as l do everything in the press etc. I assume that you have met Mr John-jules and therefore are not just taking "everyone says" as gospel. None of us know for sure what happened between him and his professional partner, but we are entitled to express an opinion as long as we are not abusive.
  • Your opinion of him was made obvious by your wish that Amy gets a 'nice' partner next time.   So yes, I do think you, amongst others, have fallen for the lies told by the Sun.  You may think you don't believe them but they have influenced your view of someone you don't know.

And you are not the only one entitled to an opinion.  It just look better when your opinion is backed by real evidence.

Fair enough Laura, you make a very good point.  :)

He failed/refused to appear on It Takes Two.  I think he's the first celeb to do that.  Read into that decision what you will.  None of us know the reality of what happened behind the scenes so aren't in a position to say whether the reports are true or lie.  Somebody being really nice in one situation doesn't mean they will always be nice.  I've met, and worked, with plenty of people in the past who are lovely when things are going their way but show a very different side of their character whey they aren't.  Public and private faces can be very different.  Is that the case with DJJ?  Who knows?

Who cares?   Liked him as the Cat.  OK but stereotyped on Paradise.  Started well on Strictly but more cos he's fit I think and has presence.   He failed to learn what he needed to go further on Strictly and that's all I'm interested in.

  • Apparently he was really angry about some nasty stuff online about his elderly mother who has Alzheimers ... not surprised that he decided enough was enough and to stop exposing his family to all the rumours and shenanigans ... whatever it was about.
