Diana, if Peggy Spencer was your teacher I guess you must be from my part of the world? Frank and Peggy lived down the road from me when I was growing up. I used to walk past their house on my way to primary school.
Loved Stacey and Kevin's dance tonight. Felt sad that Kate was injured as I thought the Argentine tango would be perfect for her, but it didn't quite come together.

I thought Kate's A tango was beautifully controlled and loved the choreography but she is very tall with long legs and I can see why it would look stiff to some. Don't know why the judges didn't get that. Loved the classic waltz and foxtrot. Found the ballroom tango far too fast and busy and tricksy for me and hated the music. Didn't like Joe's Paso music either but he danced it well.
Mixed feelings about the Street because I spent a whole season watching Possum and the others in that class learn a pure hip hop routine to that music. However it was a well constructed routine and she danced it very well and I do love that track. Lauren's jive was well danced but too much side by side for me. Not keen on the doc's samba but it was definitely better than his jive last week.
Felt uncomfortable watching Danny's quickstep and couldn't quite see why but he carried his mistake off with aplomb.
I wish the directors would show us the feet!

The A tango didn't look stiff to me, it looked a bit - can't think of the right word - cautious? In other words, it looked like she was scared of being in pain so couldn't give it the same strength she would normally. She's strong, sinuous and could do the precise positioning of the steps so in a non-injured week it looked like it could be 'her' dance, but the execution didn't always have the conviction I'm sure she's capable of. Which I was sorry about. Still good though.

I just thought it looked contained but when we learned about her torn muscle I wasn't at all surprised. I really like her and her whole approach to doing the show.

And so it came to pass if I may quote one of the good books, ear trumpet stuffed with socks against the raucous noise that passes for music, binoculars reversed, they never show the feet so I may as well take in the long view and cushions secure on the couch I watched. The kaleidoscopic light show it has become where the camera wanders off to view the so called Celebs in the audience and occasionally actually shows the Dancers is off putting to say the least. There were some almighty fails in technique, what was Danny doing? I had read about the injuries wondering if a couple would call off from dancing, it has happened before and they were not punished for it. With memories of my own dance classes knowing you cannot learn to Tango in a week I thought Kate did very well, those with dance experience are coming to the top although a couple of the none dancers are getting better by the week. Considering I no longer consider it a dance competition just another Saturday night no brainer I have to admit I enjoyed it, that is apart from the judges now becoming stand up (sit down) comedians taking away the focus from the actual performers, wearing strange finger wear and kissing the participants what next I ask? I look forward to tonights show, who will go I ask? I watched a video of my Granddaughter dancing with her group in the modern idiom, they have practiced for three months and it showed, as she told me yesterday, "you have to work hard to get to the top" yes my love and they put heart and soul into putting on their show. Young people learning to dance properly great. Frank.
So far this series the GBP has always put the worst dancers in the dance off. It'll be interesting to see if they vote for Danny who has more potential IMHO than the doc. However, no real duffers and everyone trying hard and enjoying the opportuny to learn from the best so whoever goes it'll be a wrench.

GWRS, I did think Bruno was going to dance Shirley under the desk at one time, he would have caught a tiger by the tail there. Obelixx, Must agree the GBP has come up trumps, in my new enlightenment it matters little as I am sure the winners are already out there and it is the ones who had dance lessons when young. Our world is not dead as all the grandchildren go to dance classes and progress through hard work and practice. It will come back probably in a different form at times, I still cannot forget my Mother and I doing the Black Bottom in the kitchen, it all goes through phases then is rediscovered again, I may live to see that.
