Yes Hosta, it was me. No, I don't particularly warm to Shirley Ballas either (neither do I dislike her), but such an interesting bit of history. Glad you enjoyed it too.

Having been very dull all morning, and with heavy rain forecast tomorrow (when I'm off to the wedding), it's suddenly brightened up. Blue sky and sun, with a gentle breeze - my washing may dry after all. Hope it stays this way for the cricket, Chicky.

Just back from visiting son and taking his much loved 19 year old house cat to the vet for him for the last time cry

He'll really miss him ... as he said, the cat stuck by him longer than the wife did

Have had a quick skim read but haven't clicked on the links yet ... I'll have a look this evening ...

Just home from work - feet and head are aching so having a chill before culinary duties.

Sad for your son @Dovefromabove - 19 is totally amazing, but it still is heartbreaking when they go.

@Hostafan1 - that is a bit awkward then... I wonder if you could ‘prepare’ in the morning then have a later appointment? Otherwise it’s ‘prepare’ at the hospital, which is not very relaxing! Hope that goes ok anyway.

    Hope you all ok.

Hosta, hope all goes well, you have waited long enough for this.

AuntyRach ... the kitten had been born in a barn on a farm where a farmer had found it's mother and her kittens and taken them to a rescue centre ... when son got him he became ill a couple of days later and it seems that he had a bad reaction to his jabs ... the vet said that it was best for him not to have any more jabs but to be kept indoors as a house cat and that's exactly what son did.  They shared everything ... even son's Chinese Crispy Duck takeaways.

My friend dyes his beard that colour.
Right, The hospital has called. Get there for  8.30am " don't be late" and I'll be given a room with a bed and , more importantly , a loo. I'll " be evacuated in half an hour". Sounds divine doesn't it?
The grass is cut, 15 minute shower which was enough to get me wet, and wet the grass enough to clog the mower every 2 minutes, then it stopped. grr.
