Hi folks, back from sunny Turkey last night and up to my neck in washing.  Haven't read back but hope everyone is OK.
Holiday was eventful, Gastritis flared up and ended up in hospital being rehydrated and on intravenous antibiotics but they looked after me well.  Only in for the day and then took about 3 days to recover.  I'm back to normal now and will need to take tablets for a few more weeks to make sure it doesn't return.  Hubby spent this morning at casualty getting his shoulder checked out as he had a fall while we were away, luckily it appears to be just soft tissue damage, they reckon he needs physio but did say that by the time his appointment comes through it will probably be better as the waiting list is so long.

Garden is like a jungle, lawns mowed this morning but need to do some serious weeding, deadheading and cutting back.  Don't think I'll get to it until the weekend as I'm off to spend a few days with Secondborn helping her to get things ready for the new baby.  Only 3 weeks to go.

Oh Yvie - what a time you had!  :/
Hope you're both ok. Horrible to be so unwell in another country - bad enough at home.
Take it easy in the garden though.
Been wet pretty much all day here - apart from a couple of spells, but it seems to be off properly now. Not been too cold [Hosta would disagree!] as it reached 17 for a little while. Excellent for the garden - nice steady stuff and a few heavy spells. Grass looks fairly normal now.
I'd echo the picture frame idea too LG. Always useful, and if they're keen on ornithology, perhaps one of those days out type of things to a 'bird' area. Correct technical term there  ;)
Or a big picture of a big bird  :D

    @Fairygirl, yup, you're right. I think 17C is cold.

    Heh heh! :D
No wind and quite muggy. Perfect for the garden. It's to be pretty much like that all week. Better be half decent next week when I'm off, or I'll have the  right hump  ;)

Crikey.  We barely been getting down to 17C at night!   Set to get a bit cooler now tho and maybe as low as 12 at the weekend but I shall be in Bordeaux with Possum.   We're off on Friday morning to explore.   Back late Monday evening.   240kms south of here and set to be a warm weekend around 32C.   Comfy.

Yvie - I had gastric something on every trip to Turkey.  Losing 24 to 48 hours of a precious hol to tummy stuff is not my idea of fun so you have my sympathy.   Made worse by being sailing hols with limited facilities on board.   We stopped going.

Obelixx, I had the heating on for two hours the other evening and the electric blanket is on every night.

Joyce - that sounds autumnal to me and I haven't done with summer yet.

Couldn't stop going Obelixx, love it too much and have some very good friends there.  Haven't had a problem for years. It's something to do with a bacterial problem I had in this country that can lead to stomach ulcers.  It just flared up while I was there.  The amazing thing is I walked into the hospital was seen by a doctor within 10 mins.  Treatment started instantly and I was taken to the ward within 1 hour.  Wouldn't happen here.  Took hubby 4 hours to see a doctor this morning at our local hospital.

Mine was good old fashioned food poisoning.   Life is too short and holidays even shorter!

Oh Yvie, what a nightmare ☹️  Glad you are on the mend now though - hope hubby makes a similarly speedy recovery.  And only 3(ish 😉) weeks til another big excitement 👶🏼.  Bet secondborn is glad its cooled down a bit - not a great summer to be pregnant 🤰🏼.  I had both chicklets in the spring, so spent my “huge” days snuggled up in thick woolly jumpers 🧣🧤 - in hindsight that was a blessing.

Is Bow back from her travels LG?  And if so, did she enjoy herself?

Green grass already Fairy ?  Think we’ll need a couple more showers to see any of that round here.

First day back at work, and a bike ride this evening, and thats me done in.  Can hardly keep my eyes open 👀
