I was thinking of a gift voucher, as well, but also, they might like a flowering plant that they don’t already have.

Sorry. Don’t know why my post has repeated itself. Ignore it!

    Morning all.
When we got married , we had a houseful of stuff each so didn't "need" anything. We relented and said that we didn't want presents , but for those who really wanted to buy something, John Lewis vouchers would be fine. ( salad bowls, water jugs, photo frames, picnic blanket, and wine and smoked salmon from Waitrose)  John Lewis all the way.
Dry here , but very dark clouds.
Another troubled night. Lots of horrible dreams, confrontational, scary, surreal , the lot, have left me feeling exhausted this morning.
I too watched WDYTYA last night. I had planned to go to bed early but got sucked in. I'm glad I watched it. Moving indeed.
I didn't watch Shirley Ballas (?) as I've no idea who she is.

I prefer to get a 'thing' to getting vouchers, on the whole. But in this case I agree that they might be the way to go. Thanks all.
Doesn't matter who Shirley Ballas is, it was the story that was so interesting and unexpected. She's  a dancer, but that makes no difference to the story.

Maybe it's just me, but I feel I have to "know" the person to have an interest in the back story. Maybe I should catch it on iPlayer.

I quite like 'knowing' them too, but some of the best ones I've seen have been either people I've no clue about, or people I don't like! The back story, the history, is much more interesting than the sleb, to me, so I watch them all. Shirley Ballas's one is not in my list of 'top WDYTYAs ever', but for twists and turns it was really interesting. I even watched the one with that woman from Last Tango in Halifax (edited to add - Anne Reid). Worth a watch for the history, but having started watching with no views about her at all I couldn't stand her by the end. Definitely a case of appreciate the acting, don't find out about the person!

Good morning.   I think in this case LG, vouchers or a Bongo are the way to go or just some good wine they can enjoy together when they're ready if they're a way a lot.

Cool again here - relatively speaking - and I'm on tomato processing duties again.  OH and I are having a mucky day sorting out stuff in the potager which includes putting all the manky corn cobs out for birds and critters.   I have a green cabbage salted for making quick kimchi and am pondering "couscous" or crudités with the lone cauliflower that has survived heatwave and caterpillars.

Haven't had time to watch any WDYTYA but, in theory, have them recorded.  Hope so.

Pat - that drought looks desperate.  Hope you get some decent rain soon.   Local farmers have their beasts in the sheds again for easier watering and feeding and to keep them off the grass which is parched.   On the other hand, their corn fodder crops look fine for now.

Yes, Obelixx, it is desperate. I’m not sure how much longer they can survive. Also, it’s all very well to sell your stock because can’t feed or water them, but the meat will be very tough. Poor little lambs I saw today.
On another related topic, I watched a wallaby with junior hanging out of her pouch yesterday morning, eating the leaves and shoots of my shrubs. Didn’t have the heart to disturb them. 😏

Well done ... you've trained him very well @Hostafan1  ;)

    Those are rather special plants.
