Interesting. The otherwise pale moon opposite, has a faint pinkish colour on the lower bit.

@punkdoc your SIL's garden design sounds like a nice project.  My MIL has asked me to do similar for her (on a much much smaller scale).  She's had a garden room added to the back of the house and now wants something nice to look at ... thing is she'll readily acknowledge that she's famous for killing plants ... she tells me that she want perennials that don't take any looking after ... I might try to persuade her to accompany us on a visit to Bressingham and Foggy Bottom and point at the things she likes ... she lives not far from Barnsdale, but as I remember it she wasn't that impressed when she visited  :/    I think she might like Adrian Bloom's take on things ... she has a south facing garden on fantastic fenland loam so how hard can this be ...

Bearing in mind she once planted an apricot against a wall and was amazed that it didn't fan train itself flat against the wall all by itself like the ones she'd seen elsewhere ...

I see the "are you annoyed" thread is going the same way as the " Euthanasia " thread.

What a lovely film Hosta, thanks for the link. Could it be Sandringham?

Interestingly, Sandringham is merely a 'house' .... not a 'hall'

    All beautiful indeed @Dovefromabove.
Can anyone imagine any of them being granted planning nowadays  by the petty , small minded , self -serving NIMBYs who stuff the planning committees of councils up and down the land?
Where are the great houses we're building for our descendants to enjoy? The only20th Century house of merit I can think of ,even approaching that scale, is Castle Drogo.

and I bet that wouldn't be allowed today either.
