We have just spent a lovely evening, sat outside the summerhouse, eating Nicoise salad and drinking Alsace Riesling, gorgeous.

If I was honest, I would have to admit to being like that with my Mun, and leaving everything to my sisters.
I have tried to improve in the last few years, realising that the next time you see them, might be the last

Good morning... not sure why I'm awake, unless I'm excited about going to London tomorrow, Hampton Court on Wednesday and the Forkers Special (Lambeth Palace Gdns and Chelsea Physic Garden, for anyone not on the radar) on Friday.   :D

Congrats to Mr Dove - hope it's just the right job to satisfy him.

Commiserations to you, Yvie - hope Mum is ok; and yes, as LilyP says, most families seem to have the equivalent of a useless brother...

Our cat is sporting a multi-coloured adhesive bandage covering a cannula in her leg.  She's part way through rehydration treatment for a poorly stomach - and has been a thorough nuisance this past evening, when I've been preparing fruit for the freezer and packing for London... so clearly she's better!

Right.  I must try to go back to sleep!
Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.

    Foggy start today.
Hubby had to take a fire truck into town for radio repairs, so I followed to bring him home. It was a slow drive. Fog all the way.
    Minus 6 again.
Dove best wishes for you OH workwise.
Who was talking about suncream?  Oh yes, LG.  You’ve reminded me that on the news recently they were saying people should stop covering up because they are seeing people with rickets. I have to wonder if they are having a go at our Muslim  ladies. I find the comment a bit bizarre in our climate.

Good Morning, Hostafan.  I have been up since first light, so I changed the soaker hose from the beans to the raspberries, emptied four watering cans full on stuff that still looked dry, despite watering for nearly three hours last night. Even long planted stuff is wilting, the oak is dropping leaves and the cracks underneath the oak are big enough to put a hand in. I've read until my kindle is flat, put the washer and dishwasher on, and listened to the bin men emptying the wheely bins.  I might go shopping for a new swimming costume today. One of the sort that you sit around in, doing not a lot, rather than swimming in.  We could do with 24 hours of rain here.

    Good morning all  :) G'day Pat  :)
Weird dreams involving ornate heraldic brickwork structures on our roof ... yes I phoned our builder yesterday about replacing a ridge tile ... but a carved brick Phoenix atop a classic 60s style home?  ... Well I thought it looked good in my dream  B)

Good morning.   Bit cloudy here but set to stay dry so I need to get the weeding done asap while the soil is still a bit soft.

FB - my swimming costumes don't go in the water either.

Yvie - I hope you've given him a good dressing down.  Is mum OK now?

Pdoc - sounds like a lovely evening.   Nice habit to develop.

Liri - hope the trip goes well and no messing with trains.

Vendée - 20kms from Atlantic coast.
