@chicky fingers crossed here too. I'm having only decaff tea after 11am. TBH I really don't like it , but hey ho , it seems to be helping so it's worth persevering.
Did anyone hear the trailer on ITV last night for " Love your garden"?
" The nation's favourite gardener, Alan Titchmarsh returns........."
    Fighting talk there.

    Hi all.
Off to have some heart tests this morning, think the hospital might be hot.
Sorry, but I can't stand Alan Titchmarsh.

Sorry Dove, never seen anything like that before
I don’t like to be insensitive but it has been very very wet here since last night
the tops of the trees look so much better.

No need to apologise pdoc. Perfectly sound position, IMO. Good luck - take water.

Glenys - what a desperate situation. It's hard to see how the future will go - the investment required to get the infrastructure in place to deal with the crisis is immense - how can it possibly be afforded? International help needed  :(

Glad to hear you're sleeping better Hosta

The stars were amazingly bright last night Chicky. Mesmerising. There's a lunar eclipse this week - Friday I think. A blood moon.

We're having trouble with hornets this year. There's a nest in the bank outside the back door which is no bother in itself. But every night a few of them start climbing over the back doors and if I open them to let the dogs out for a wee, they barge in, which freaks the dogs (and me, tbh). I can only think they are drawn to the light. Anyone know if that's likely?

goodluck with the tests  and you're not alone re AT ( for all his faults, I've never heard him say anything which was factually inaccurate )

I have to say Bassetlaw Hospital yesterday was surprisingly only stifling. I had expected to find people actually melting. No doubt when I go back today it'll be just as uncomfortably warm. But at least I am prepared with fresh socks!

Hope all goes as well as can be expected and they don't find anything unexpected (you know the sorts - babies, pen tops, a small for tree...)

I am sure you are right @Hostafan1, but facts can be so dull :)

Let's hope you get " facts " and not just "opinions asserted as facts " at the hospital this morning @ punkdoc.  ;):D

    I can only echo @Clarington's hopes @punkdoc ;)
