Loving all the hedgehog tales and pics. I was just saying on weather thread that I had a two hour nana-nap today - I was wondering if my body is catching up on some of sleep lost during the hot weather now I have a week off?

Hope you all ok - catch you tomorrow.

We got 1 mm rain last night. First since earlier this month. I should be grateful, but can’t understand why we don’t get more while irs around. 🙄

Good morning all  :) g'day Pat  :). No rain here since early May  :( and it looks as if temperatures will be up in the 30s again tomorrow  :/

    Morning all!

Sorry I've been AWOL. Everything has been too much. But we're starting to get back on our feet again slowly. Little steps and trying not to think about the bigger picture as to be honest it's overwhelming.

The garden is a barren landscape with even the weeds dying off with the lack of rain. I only ever use water butts or waste water from the house so everything is learning to survive.

One thing I found that seems to work well is sinking plastic bottles into the ground to endure that when I water it doesn't just sit on the top few inches but goes closer to the roots.

    What do you think?

Morning Dove, morning all, afternoon Pat, yes Dove, really struggling with the heat here, no rain at all since May, no break in the heat, not good for hubby at all and conditions aren't great for me either but like you say at least I'm not gardening for that horrid woman now!!! Hope everyone keeps cool and has a good day, if anyone sees any rain, please send it this way!!!

Lovely to see you Clari ((hugs))
as I used to say to Wonky, you can eat an elephant ... but you have to do it one bite at a time  ;)
I use plastic bottles as you describe when planting shrubs, trees and things like courgettes. Works really well.
Good morning Wonky  :)we'll remember these days when it's a cold, wet and dreary February day  :/
