Thank goodness for that, what a nightmare for all concerned, hope they are all OK. What is the matter with Jeremy Hunt? I rather like the sound of him, he is reliable, caring and loyal, may have made the odd mistake, but who doesn't? He was also a remainer and, as I'm an ex-pat (not my choice) it's obvious which side I'm on. Theresa May has had a hugely difficult job, I don't think anyone would remain popular doing what she has to do, at least her ministers could stick together and remain loyal.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
I tried to post last night but a Vodafone message popped up to say that there was no Internet. Yesterday, after OH had his haircut and I had hung out the washing and did washing up, we went to explore a bit of north Suffolk. Had a light lunch in a tearoom in Bungay. Also went to Wickes and bought some white paint on special offer for painting the sitting room in new cottage. But my tummy wasn't right, bit upset later. It's OK now. Think there must be a small bug about. I know a few people who've had it.
I'm doing housework and preparing the cottage for daughter's visit. Not room for us while they are staying, end of July and early August. We go back to France tomorrow. OH has gone to Norwich to talk to Vodafone about the future change of address.

Quite agree Busy. Unenviable job and unhelpful blokes all round. At least David Davies resigned for a principle but Boris just doesn't have any. No idea who the new negotiator is but I hope Jeremy Hunt can master a brief better and faster than Boris and has safer feet and mouth. Not difficult.
How long before the sales go thru and you move to the new place? Have a good trip back.
Love Sadiq allowing the Trump balloon. That visit is going to be such fun for all concerned.

What's the matter with Jeremy Hunt?!!? Where to start... don't worry, I won't. Suffice to say that I agree about Boris, JH may well be better than him at that job (definitely not difficult). And I can see why May would choose him. But that doesn't mean that JH doesn't deserve his oopsslipofthetongue name, nor that his leaving Health is not the best 70th birthday present the NHS could wish for. Having had him as 'our' minister in my profession, prior to him being at Health, I can say it's not just the NHS he's capable of damaging. His disdain ranges across all public service.
The boiler is fixed, after much scrabbling around in void spaces and airing cupboards looking for the source. Very nice chaps.

Hi folks. Bit sticky here - been making raspberry jam.
Good news about the boiler, LG. Cold showers are ok in this weather, but not cold water for hair washing, in my experience.
Hope your moving goes well, BL, and you're soon settled.
Our moggy is feeling sorry for herself. She's had to be on a drip for a couple of days, and now is on a different "sensitivity control" prescription food, which she's not all that keen on. She just wants to sit on my lap all day...
Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.

Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
