Hi all /afties Pat chicky - it's 5 star accomodation for the wee birds in the garden. I was making the 'hastily put together' arrangement into something more 'chez robin' Still a few refinements but I ran out of weather and time, but got it back on the fence. Dove - it's all very well when they it's lucky.... Hope Hosta enjoyed his show. I was awake at 5 on Saturday but I got up. Felt lousy later though! Better go and shift - I ownder what joys await at me work today. Could it be any better than Friday when we discovered the boss had put someone's rosettes into an order that had gone to Kintyre so we had to redo them... Have a good damp day everyone
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
I found out yesterday that one of our vans was smashed up. The driver was waiting in a queue at a roundabout and some daft woman had left her car in a car park without the handbreak and it rolled down the hill, out of the car park and straight into the the side of the van. Mercifully only the van and not a kiddy on a bike, or someone with a pram.
Not long home from Ukelele group. Flopped on the lounge now. Watching the replay of Le Tour from last night. Finished for a year again. I’m glad Gerant Thomas won.
Good morning. Slept better but fitfully as it's less noisy here in the new place but still uber hot and sticky. Shelving to build today and rubbish to take away and a certain lesson in sorting rubbish - no plastics in with paper and cardboard that the Romanian origin but now French nationality flatmate hasn't grasped.
Landlady due at 11:30 with plumber to sort the doings for the washing machine so I have boxes to shift up to the attic while the girls go and do some official stuff at the local council. Belgians are demon paper pushers and record everything and allocate status and charge you for the pleasure. No way you can just turn up and move in or change address without endless form filling.
Love that picture Liri and would probably love the highlands and islands too but too cold and wet and full of midgies for me. I thought of taking OH up there for a break but the max temps for July would still have me in jeans and jumpers so not at the mo. Enjoying the sunshine at home too much for the time being. Planning to head home tomorrow still but probably won't get away before midday now. More form filling apparently.
Like the sound of your robin mansion FG. Pics please. We have birds nesting in house eaves and shed eaves and holes in teh ruins but I'd like some more res des if possible, including an owl box and bat boxes.
Hosta - as I recall, Poldark is full of horrid people being horrid to others which is why I'm not watching this version. Hope you got some more sleep.
Greetings to all. Have a lovely day.
Vendée - 20kms from Atlantic coast.

Hi everyone I have not been posting much on here recently too busy watering to keep everything alive with visit from OH's American cousin & other family duties in between. Not long back from dentist so on here trying to keep distracted while waiting for my mouth to come alive again so I can have a cup of tea without it all dribbling down my front! Hope you are all ok & have been enduring the heat with fortitude, I have already said on the weather thread but if anyone has too much rain please send it here is we need more MUCH more. Anyone ever seen this below two tops on one beetroot! I did not notice when I took most of the leaves off. Another curiosity for us gardeners.
Hope all the last bits and pieces all go smoothly, Obxx. Funny about your OH getting all the pet attention!
I've read back but should have taken notes! I remember seeing a gorgeous clematis and a gorgeous view. Welcome back, Liri.
Bow is safely in Romania and having a great time I think. Even less sleep than scheduled due to the airline losing 30 bags, including hers, for 36 hours, with all the attendant delays and extra arrangements. They did their first concert in a cathedral (which was supposed to be in formal full length concert clothes) wearing their travel clothes from the day before - jeans, trainers, tshirts etc.
I've very much enjoyed the reduced temperatures. The garden has too. Back up again in the next couple of days.

I hope the concert went well LG, despite the lack of robes. I shall be pleased to get home too Pat. Apart from anything else it's a bit cooler and not humid and there's no mess.
Cooler here today. A mere 32C at 6pm instead of 38C we had a couple of days ago. Still dripping tho. Loads more sorting done. 2 more sets of new shelves built. Clothes hung up, storage boxes stashed in the attic, rubbish sorted for disposal - they'd just mixed everything together in boxes which is not acceptable on any level. Just about possible to move around without risking life and limb.
Unbelievable how much stuff 2 young women can accrue and, having moved it, how much they suddenly decide they don't need anymore! Good job we'd moved that stuff ourselves or I'd have been livid. As it is, I do a lot of counting to 10, 10 times.
No probs with old apartment so bank at 10am tomorrow to free up the deposit and then load the car and go. Yippee!
OH says we've had rain at home so he was forced to watch golf and do some ironing this morning. Also told Possum that by the time he'd fed and cuddled pussies, walked and fed the dogs, watered all my plants there wasn't much time to do anything else. Really.
Good that some people have had rain. Hope you all get all you need soon. Belgium too. I hate to think about what's happening to all my treasures in the old garden. Just have to concentrate on new treasures.

Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
