Ive had a lovely long sleep and thinking about getting up. Not in a hurry though. I’ve enjoyed reading the last few pages. Can’t get used to you all having our usual summer weather. Sleep well.
My God that takes me back. The Drovers Inn, September 1969, had my first pint in a pub there aged 15! The plan was that several of us were going to go hitchhiking up the West Coast that weekend ( the September weekend for Scots reading) then end up in Ardgarten Youth Hostel on the Monday for a walk up the Cobbler. By Friday afternoon everybody else had dropped out of the hitching part (parents not happy) so I took off on my own from Balloch on Saturday morning (lied to my parents about how many were going). First couple that picked me up stopped at Inverarnan for a drink (11am!) and asked me what I wanted. Pint of heavy says I!
I got up to Fort William that day then back down to Arrochar the next day and caught up with the others at the Narnain Boulders on the way up the Cobbler on the Monday. A great weekend!
Morning all 😀. Glad you’ve still got staying power Pdoc ....respect 😉. And great memories Steephill - those were the days, when you stopped for a pint at 11am 😜
Well done Yvie on 5k in that heat 🏃🏼♀️🏃🏼♀️🏃🏼♀️
Thanks Liri and LG .....its a good year for the echinops 💜
Did a spot of emergency watering last night, so pleased to see my droopy hydrangeas have perked up this morning.
Great news to have SiL back in London LilyP - daughter and her littlies must be so pleased.
Morning chicky and those to come. There's rain forecast for later, but I'm not too optimistic, looking at the sky now. I delivered to a couple who job share as primary teachers. They told me that parents are complaining about " data protection " and saying teachers should get permission before publicly posting children's data on classroom walls ( what we used to call sticking a kid's painting up for others to see) Madness.
Morning folks/afties Pat if you're around Madness doesn't even begin to cover it Hosta Steephill - I always knew you were trouble..... Were you a bit weary getting up to the boulders? Glad you had a lovely break doc. Did the weather hold for you - think the north west was getting a bit of rain recently. We've had a reasonable amount since yesterday and everything in the garden is breathing a sigh of relief. Back to a nice temp too - 14 just now. I saw Obelixx's temps yesterday and nearly fainted Well done Yvie - I can't do the heat at all when I walk. Lovely pic chicky - took me a minute or three to spot the ant Up early to take daughter to work for 7 [bank holiday in Glasgow today so no buses] and the hoggies have eaten all their dinner. Great stuff
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
Morning Fairy weve got some clouds that look as if they might promise rain ... but we've had them for several days now and everything is still bone dry ...
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.

@Fairygirl " Back to a nice temp too - 14 just now." you mean minimum night time don't you? Surely?
