Ended up having a lazy afternoon until Possum asked if we could eat a bit earlier than yesterday..... Got up and started making fishcakes while OH walked the dogs. When e got back I gleefully asked what it was worth not to tell him the England result, thinking he'd been watching golf all pm. He'd watched the match and is now ensconced in teh kitchen with the other match, whatever that is.
Possum said she liked the fish cakes. Told her I'd softened an onion and some spring onions in coconut milk and grated lime zest before mixing in the fish and potatoes. OH said his mum never did that. "No" and "Idea" come to mind.
Possum and I are going to watch a film. No idea what. Her taste and mine don't often coincide.
Hosta - our sprinkler is on in the potager for sweetcorn, potatoes and tomatoes. Timers are wonderful.
GWRS - You seem to get about a fair bit. OK to leave the lottie to its own devices in this heat?
Vendée - 20kms from Atlantic coast.

I’m feeling very lethargic today (don’t know why - might be the late night viewing of Le Tour) so except for hanging out a load of washing and fighting strong winds on the rotary hoist, am lazing inside. Should be practising my new Ukelele chord changes but finding it hard to get eager. Might just have a little doze in front of the fire.😴
Morning all. Coal face duties today. Wish me luck. The person who organises/ designates routes/drivers vans etc is off and I don't think anyone is coming in to do it and one of the "late" drivers is off, and , guess what? ditto, nobody replacing him so I might have a late one today.
Good morning all @Hostafan1 don't overdo it. Make sure you take proper breaks. Had a lovely day yesterday ... cousins decided to come here and sit in the shade and have cups of tea and cake rather than meet up elsewhere. Lots of gardening talk, promise of seeds, and J clambered up to the top corner of the Shady Bank and found evidence of Vine weevil damage to the main stem of the poorly C Montana. It must be four years since we treated that area with nematodes ... better get some more ...
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
Morning all /afties Pat. Did you have a little doze? Just off to walk- well, a long drive with a short walk at the end of it, but it's about the only region that won't be fog bound all day. It's quite cloudy here just now, although still very warm. Congrats to England - although I don't know if I can cope with the 'meedja' and all their nonsense. I believe there's been a boost to the economy though, with the amount that's been eaten and drunk - so it's all good Take it easy Hosta. I think they take you for a mug in that place. My daughter currently has an issue with her wages [partly her fault as she hasn't chased them up enough ] but it's the same - never anyone there who can 'deal with it' apparently. Glad you had a nice day Dove. I think I might need some of that weevil treatment. They seem to be getting a bit of a hold here too. Better go - have a grand day everyone. Stay cool - or warm - depending on your location
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
