Turning the converstation away from lady bits for a bit; wouldn't it be nice to have a questionaire or flow chart to fill in before you register as a member?

Does your query involve Japanese knotweed?
    Yes
Is it a Japanese knotweed ID query?
    Yes
Does it actually look anything like Japanese knotweed?
    It's green and has leaves...
    Access denied.

Does your query involve a sick plant?
    Yes
Have you actually watered it in the last month?
    No
    Maybe try that then.

Does your query involve an ID request?
    Yes
    Do you have clear pictures?
    No
Seriously wtf are you expecting then?
If you can keep your head, while those around you are losing theirs, you may not have grasped the seriousness of the situation.

Me too Hostafan  :D but sometimes I think it has to do with a lack of skills. Between my Dad and my school I learned observation, presentation and how to hypothesise, not sure much of it stuck but I have noticed that some people look and don't see, listen and don't hear, think forums are search engines. I quite like having a curmudgeon thread!

And Nut's been known to get an ID from only a very vague text description

That's right. It's all Nut's fault. If she wasn't so good, standards of ID threads would improve no end!
    Blame her I say!  :D

No chance then find a US site for help.

"Please can you identify this pest and tell me how to get rid of it?"

Erm, if you don't know what it is, how do you know it's a pest?  Oh, it's on a plant?  And you saw it move?  Oh well then, it must be.
