I really didn't need to see that B3.   Horrid.

We've had a power cut too Dove so the rain hasn't registered on the weather dooberry but I suspect it was nowhere near the 5cms they'd been promising.   More like 5mm.

Trump said "When they make you feel unwelcome, why would I stay there?" - Job done :)

What was interesting on the march itself, and something I've not seen before, was the people waving and cheering from office windows above pretty much every shop and company in Regent's Street. I gradually realised that the most enthusiasm seemed to be coming from those above American companies. And the number of heartfelt messages of thanks I've seen on social media - from Americans - was also a surprise. Not to mention the number of US accents I heard on the march itself, and conversations with people from all over the States. Personally, I was demonstrating against the rise of fascism in the person of Trump, but it became something else as well when I saw how moved so many Americans were and how unifying it was.

    Right, back to curmudgeoning ;)

I think it's a close call who is the more deceitful and dangerous between him and Putin.
Don't know about deceitful but Putin is more dangerous because he will be there a lot longer. Trump might wish he could change the law and stay in power indefinitely, but given how many Americans don't like him and didn't vote for him, I think it's a stretch, even for him. But Putin has power for as long as he wants it

Oh the irony. I bought my trout ready for a smoked trout dinner, got all my smoking kit out and found I didn't have any wood shavings left. The hill is still merrily smoking away behind the house and I can't even rustle up enough to cook a fish. In the end I found a chunk of seasoned apple wood in the log pile and spent 20 minutes shaving bits off with a knife. It would have been quicker and easier to walk up the hill and hold it over the flames I think :#

Is it wrong that this has made me laugh out loud?! Hope your hard work paid off and that the trout was worth it.

Actually it was very good  :) I normally use oak shavings but apple wood gave a really nice flavour. Plus I was starving by the time I finally got it cooked

It's good to see an array of views here and lively discussion. A culture of "one right view" is never healthy.
