Neighbour of mine has under active thyroid she didn’t think the toast and jam she had everyday for breakfast and strawberries and cream etc had anything to do with it.  She really is a round as she is tall!
She has a new doctor now who has given her a diet sheet and said she must do some walking.  And it’s working, if she can stick to it.

Oh dear Lyn, that sounds a bit calorific .... the problem is that under active thyroid can make you feel so low in mood that a little bit of what you fancy is sometimes very welcome ... but she must try to keep active ... it really matters.

She has to walk with 2 sticks now, it’s such a shame, I feel sorry for her, but her previous doctor said he can only help those who will help themselves.

Maybe he should have considered  treating her mental health and self esteem instead of blaming her for being fat  :'(

That’s exactly what I thought Dove, but she’s got a new doctor now, she used to be at the surgery I use and she’s so good, I’m hoping J will get the encouragement now that she needs.  Of course she has the usual diabetes, high blood pressure and all that goes with it.

I'm curmudgeonly because it's flippin' freezin' and I'm thinking of sticking the heating on.

Still pleasantly warm here Hosta ... tee shirt and cut off jeans and the door to the garden wide open... a big green Hawker dragonfly just flew in ... it seemed quite taken with our bookshelves, especially the drama and poetry shelves (yes my bookshelves are ‘organised’).  Eventually it abandoned its literary ambitions and flew to the window where OH opened a big casement and guided it out. Beautiful visitor  :)

The heating is now on so I'm curmudgeonly about the oil usage.

OH decided to take the dogs for a cool, shady evening walk along the Yon in a bit of valley not far from us.  I said I'd go with.  Why do I not listen to my own instincts when he says we'll just go left down here then turn right here and here and here and end up back where we started?

Ended up on what he thought was the right road to get back to the car.........   7kms later we were back at the car after much up hilling and down daling.    Just waiting for my thighs to stop tingling before I go and water all the pots as I also have to wait for 8pm now there are restrictions.

No heating needed here but I hope you warm up Hosta.
