When walking from Chelsea Physic Garden down the Southbank last week, wingnuts on bikes were intent on ploughing through everyone in their path. Going at 20 mph they bashed into children and grannies. I got hit in the chest. They jumped over steps on the bikes and raking people sitting on benches with their handlebars. I assume they were on crystal meth or something similar. They looked intent on doing harm. It was shocking to be peacefully walking on a pedestrian path by the river and encounter casual violence in that way. As I walked down towards Waterloo, I saw dazed tourists bleeding and bruised, wondering what just hit them. I felt ashamed that this is what London has become.
I have a hearing problem - especially when I don't use my hearing aids. They whizz through shopping malls - hell's grannies and grandads. They should have to take a test, be insured and licensed and the same goes for cyclists. The mobility juggernauts should have number plates and the cyclists should have their licence number on their helmet.
Same goes for horses and riders IMHO. ( there's a whole new thread waiting for those )
A haulage lorry passed me today with "Total Logistics Solutions" proudly emblazoned on the side. Why can't they just call a spade a spade, and say "Delivering Stuff"?
That reminds me of the little bag of JI compost I bought yesterday which has, I quote, an "Advanced Closure System". Stuff like that catches you out; I stared at it, looking for something complicated, unsure of what to do.
I remember when you could carry a card in your pocket that said:. "In the event of accident, the bearer does not wish to be visited in hospital by Mrs.Thatcher".
Yes Hosta, let’s ride two or three abreast, that’ll slow the cars down.
"it's only a Waitrose van, they'll be far too polite to complain about us passing by this layby/ field entrance / grass verge/ passing place without having the good grace to move out of his way along this single track road"
We only get black horses with fascinators on their heads around here. They walk very slowly but it's probably because a man in a top hat is walking in front of them.

Horses have been using the roads a lot longer than motor vehicles!
