    Daddylonglegs give me the creeps and stick insects when they do that moving backwards and forwards thing. I had to feed some when their owner was on holiday. When I asked What to feed them they said just find some privet. You wouldn't believe how little privet there is in London!
    Horrible things, they waited for me under the lid of the tank. : :#

    You can avoid the implicit sexism of "daddy long legs" by using their other common name "harvestman".  Oh, hang on though ....

    Parent of self-defining gender long legs?  Aren't daddy long legs and harvestmen different things?  I think of harvestmen as the spiders with the small amost ball shaped bodies and very long legs.  Daddy long legs are the flying things.
