I also have never understood the appeal of tattoos; why would anyone adopt a fashion that you can't stop wearing when it stops being the fashion? The original idea was that sailors had them so their bodies could be identified when they were washed ashore.
When I worked in a hospital, we were always amused by patients who told us they were needle-phobic and made a fuss about having blood taken or an injection, then when you saw them with their clothes off, they were covered in tattoos and piercings.
That must be what that advert about VM was about. I wondered. Can't you get them on freeview?
This house doesn't have an aerial ....... we make have to get one But I'm blowed if I'm going to continue to pay £60+ a month for broadband and tv package when I can't the the channels I want ... I may get my broadband elsewhere too ... that'll larn 'em

According to DigiSpy a lot of other people are doing the same. Virgin have really messed this up.
I wish I was a glow worm A glow worm's never glum Cos how can you be grumpy When the sun shines out your bum!
Tattoos are not fashion, they are art worn on the body, they mean something to the people who have them. Tattoo guns and needles used to insert or remove stuff from the veins are completely different. I know a lot of people don't like them but I find them fascinating and often very beautiful.
I don't get tattoos either cos it's hard to change your mind, the colours are limited and they look dreadful as you get older and wrinkly.
We have Freeview Dove, so I can watch BBC news and assorted gardening and cookery and documentaries while cooking or pottering. Used to get them on cable TV in Belgium but not here. It has some ITV but I haven't explored them much. We also have Sky in the living room so OH can watch his golf and other sporty bits and that has a few good channels too but, again, haven't explored them all. Having spent 20 of our 25 years in Belgium with no ITV I find life is too short to watch progs with ads.
Don't watch French TV tho we do have an aerial so technically we could but, apparently their news tends to put a positive spin on things such as teh recent duck boat incident in the USA. British news - number of people killed. French news headline - no of people saved........... Might give them a try.

I only found out about UK TV when OH mentioned it in passing this afternoon. I've been watching an Australian series called "The Heart Guy" on Drama and enjoying it . We can get Drama on Freeview but l can't record it from that which means l will have to remember to watch it live. A right PITA and l am not impressed.
A friend who knows about these things says "........I think Virgin have scored a massive own goal. I think they thought that by pulling the plug on UKTV, UKTV would see they were not going to increase the payment and so would give in and accept below market value. But in fact the reaction from Virgin customers and the press is that we have paid for this TV, just hand over the dosh and let us watch in peace.. So now Virgin may have to end up paying more for the channels than they could have agreed last week.........There's another misunderstanding around on social media, because some of these channels are available on Freeview (such as Dave) people assume that they are free to Virgin, which is not so, of course UKTV charge for supplying for rebroadcast to paying customers......"
Think that I will be emailing Virgin (along with a huge number of their paying customers) telling them that unless they restore the channels that I watch and have been receiving from them in the past, I will no longer require a service from them.
I will get an aerial installed (approx the cost of three months' Virgin which costs me £65 per month) and watch Freeview and get my broadband and phoneline from any of several other suppliers for under £25 per month ...
If that doesn't concentrate their minds then I will carry out my intention as above
