    The clematis are great Pdoc  :) ... lots and lots of lovely fresh growth ... that's why I'm not planting them out today ... don't want tender new growth being whipped around in this 'breeze'.    It's not bad here ... no damage ... the foxgloves and alliums look a little 'storm tossed' but they'll recover.

    Always exciting to receive new plants, especially clems!  Hope your storm damage isn't too bad LP.  You too Pdoc.

    Tiler's wife has just called.  He can come in the second half of September.  I suppose 3 months' wait is less than than the 5 I feared.    Gives me plenty of time to prep and paint the untiled walls and organise the leccy man and plumber to finish their bits straight afterwards...........   Bloody blonde builder!  That'll make it 2 years.  A shower room, not a house.

    Remembering Grenfell here today. Anyone who works in the Construction Industry feels - or should feel - some sense of responsibility, both for what happened and to do whatever we can to make sure it can't again.

    Love and light to those directly affected. <3

    Afternoon all.
    Home to find Hubby here already which wasn't expected.
    The "topknot" went down well ( most have seen it when I pop in on days off ) but 3 different female members of staff decided to pull / squeeze it.

    Wind and rain have now passed and it's very pleasant.
    Punkdoc, I'd happily have a whole house in the style of that extension. I love it.

    Sumo Hosta?

    Re Grenfell - absolutely but not just the construction industry - planners and councils too - elected and staff - and anyone putting profit above safety standards to those just thinking it's OK to do shoddy work on any project be they schools, hospitals, social housing, roads, railways or anything people use and expect to be safe.

    @Obelixx.
    It's variously been described as Terracotta Army, Samurai, telly tubby , and now Sumo.
    It takes about 30 seconds in the morning. I can do it without a mirror, without setting gel and without hair spray so it's win win win.

    Update on sleep issues.
    To-day I'm starting a bit of de-caf experiment. Rather than 3 teabags when I make a pot, I'm using 2 regular and 1 de-caf in the pot. From 4ish onwards, I'll have all de-caf.
    When I'm on my own I'll go all de-caf from lunchtime onwards
    Wish me luck

    Hosta - good luck.  No tea here but we have decaf coffee after 1pm and it mostly works.  OH always sleeps well and I do if I get to sleep before he starts snoring.....
