Mrs G ... it's only a very small pergola ... more of an arch to sit under really ... but my daughter Wonky Womble built herself a pergola, so that's what ours is called  ;)

    Cross beams tomorrow then?

I have been out and  planted beetroot plugs and Cos lettuce and Tuscan salad mix which included 2 cavolo nero like plants that are now in the cabbage patch.   I've also placed slabs of wood and iron to kill the grass where I want my trees to go.

OH has now gone out to carry on weeding the bed where the squashes are but I've asked him to start at the top end - squash free - to make space for strawberries still waiting for their own raised bed.   "So you don't want me to weed the squashes?"  Yes, but after you've made a space for strawberries.  Grump mutter.    I was speaking clear English both times as well as yesterday when he asked the same question!

Planned to sew today as it's supposed to be heavy rain and thunder but it's clear, bright and sunny.   Sewing anyway.  Homework to do.

They're already fixed Obs and the whole thing has been painted ... it had  two coats, then was assembled and put into position and joints fixed square and tightened ... now it's been concreted in place and tomorrow the screw holes will be filled and touched up and then I will be allowed to take a photo  :D

Sitting in the sun with a gin and very nice it is too.
OH mowed the lawns, whilst I was in town buying books for the summer. Town was almost pleasant, deserted streets and the girl in Waterstones giving opinions on various books.
Have planted more Dahlias and almost feel I am catching up.
Looking forward to seeing the pergola.
Us men are simple folk Obelixx, we need things explaining several times.
