  • We had a little rain for around 15 minutes there. I sat on the step (sheltered) and enjoyed the smell (whilst cursing the gods)  :D   A little bit of thunder and a touch of lightning in the distance earlier (hate rain, love thunder n lightning), but the weather app seemed to show that it was passing either side of where I am.  :)

15 minutes in a month and I'm still gonna moan about it raining!!  :D

    Evening all.
Well........ A day of ups and downs here.
I was online this morning and then ........ no internet. I fiddled and rebooted etc etc to no avail. I thought it might just be a glitch so left it and came back to it later ( several times ) In the end I switched on Hubby's laptop and went to Sony vaio troubleshooting. I got their phone number and spoke to a very helpful young man for almost an hour following instructions . Nowt.
Hubby's solution? " oh just go and buy a new one " typical.
A friend of Hubby was due to come and have a look at the internet in the annexe so he came in , I showed him the laptop and within about 5 seconds he said " Right, it's fixed now" !!!!!!
There's a wee slidy button thing on the front of keyboard marked " wireless " I'd never seen it before and we reckon I've slid it from on to off without realising, maybe moving the laptop across the worktop.  Why didn't the nice young many at Sony mention it?Anyway , I'm back, and Hubby doesn't get to go shopping.

The weather gods  must have heard me Joyce and TBG - I went to do the dinner, and it was raining. It's not heavy but it's steady, and there's a load of grey, rain filled sky coming in from the  south, so fingers crossed  :)

No rain here despite forecasts of thunderstorms and amber flood alerts, not a drop.
I hope you have a nice break BL .
Punkdoc, I know it's easy for us to say, but maybe a break from work might do Moira ,and you , the power of good?
It's the weekend folks. I hope you all have a good one.
I'm sorry if I've forgotten something important.

I've been planting tomatoes in the tunnel( and harvested some lovely spuds which had grown there unaided ) and cut the grass around " the circuit" in the wood, I've had the strimmer out and used it under the trees and around the lake .

I've taken lettuce and radishes to next door and cut some for us ... that gave me just enough space to interplant the salad patch with 20 Swift sweetcorn plants that had been a couple of inches tall when I took them to Wonky ... when I got them back they were nearly two feet tall!!!  :worried:

I've also planted out three Marmandes, three Sungolds and four Rosella toms.  Lots of weeding and hoeing has been done, also most of the forgetmenots have been pulled.

OH has been sanding down shed as it needs repainting and the stuff it was painted with in the GC won't accept the paint we're going to cover it with.

We had homemade hotdogs with fried onions and salad for supper and have collapsed on the sofa.

I may well fall asleep very shortly ...................

Hosta - that's the problem with technology. It's often something so simple, but you need a teenager or similar to tell you!  :dizzy:
The rain has gone off. Jeez Louise - we really need an hour or so of decent rainfall to get everything happy.
Too much thunder/lightning in the hill forecasts for the weekend , so I won't be taking any chances! Sunday might be ok for  a wee hill at Rest & Be Thankful or summat.
Landward's on so I'm off to see that...
