Taking littlest chicklet to the airport this morning .....wish I was going with her 😳. Slightly worried about sending my slightly dippy baby off to the other side of the world on her own (we don’t call her dolly daydream for nothing 🙄), but she seems completely at ease with it all. Will be very pleased when she gets to her sister at the other end.
in other news, el scorchio continues, hosepipes might be needed later to help the borders along a bit.
Can't possibly be as bad as the first time son went to Russia and was put in a cell for having the wrong sort of visa ... he was allowed one phone call so who did he phone in the middle of the night? Yep ... his mum
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
Home at last. Road kill count on the way back - kangaroos 47, wombats 6, fox 1, rabbit 1, magpie 1. I cant say how much it upsets me! Never mind, I can unwind at home now and we are working on getting the temp back up inside, as we deliberately let the wood fire die down so that we could get some ash out.
Omg Dove 😳. Hadn’t occurred to me she might end up in a cell. More concerned about whether she finds the right gate, or manages to navigate the change of flights in Dubai 😲
Nervy times Chicky. Fingers crossed she navigates the learning curve with flying colours.
Been in the PT and dug up loads of flipping bindweed from a mere square metre and a half and planted out the last of the San Marzano tomatoes. The other tomatoes have gone berserk and all seem to be bush, not determinate, so how I'm supposed to get in and referee is a problem I shall ponder whilst doing other things. Might need fewer plants next year........
Yuzu potted on. Good root system so I hope for lots of new growth. Front doorstep pots tidied and the gravel weeded and the bottom dining room step cleared for Rasta who likes to sunbathe whilst on Aiko watch.
24C out there already so best get on and do some more before we get to frying temps. I have rescued hostas to pot up properly and a new agapanthus Charlotte who appears to have two storeys to her flower stems, bit like a candelabra primula. Supposed to be compact but this one has tall flower stems and lovely dark blue flowers.
Vendée - 20kms from Atlantic coast.

Chicky, she'll be fine. She's done more or less the same journey, with you, fairly recently hasn't she? All will be well. Remind her not to carry nail scissors and to do some exercises on the flights - job done
Although I knew birds might have the odd drink from the pond, I didn't expect it to be such a massive draw for bathing! We have to top up regularly just because there's so much splashing about - and the bigger birds do splash a LOT. There's a crow which loves a good, regular bath, I've seen magpies several times, the sparrows almost queue up, the blackbirds and starlings have their favourite spots and this morning there was a greater spotted wodpecker in there! The equisetum is getting a bit damaged as the sparrows like to balance on the longer bits and sort of dunk down. Wish I could get photos but it's impossible to get close enough without disturbing them.
Hope everyone is well.

PS meant to say - you're so busy, Obxx! When are OH and Possum back? And do you have any photos of your pond full? If you posted them, I think I missed them.

Yes LG. 47. I can still see them in my mind. I sort of wish someone would collect them and at least use the meat for pet food or something instead of just leaving them splattered by the side of the road. 😡

I'm saying nothing about what happened to my daughter when she traveled out to join us in Goa.
