Definitely happy Liri. Such a shame others feel the need to wreck rather enjoy. Sitting on the terrace enjoying morning sun and view of garden, beautiful morning.
Hope everyone else has a good view too.

Morning all. No more rain overnight. I saw on the local news last night that the " preferred option " for the railway at Dawlish ( the only rail link to Cornwall ) is to move it 30m further into the sea????? Just a thought , why not move it inland where it's guaranteed NEVER to be damaged by the waves in winter storms? Given the money spent on Crossrail, HS1 and HS2 , extending the Jubilee line, Waterloo and St Pancras stations, can't we just have one , working rail link to the West Country? Clearly our string of Londoncentric governments think not.
Morning all. Not a cloud in sight and 22C promised. Hosta, I agree re railway. Makes you question the intelligence of some of the powers that be. Liri, disheartening when wanton vandalism destroys the efforts of others.
Hi all Thank you for your kind wishes. We had a lovely day yesterday, a walk through some local woods, which are full of Hawthorn was amazing, solid walls of white loveliness, and a smell so intoxicating, I thought i was starting to hallucinate. Last night we went out for dinner, at a lovely local restaurant in the Peak District, and were able to sit outside for an hour afterwards, it was still not dark at 10 o'clock. Raining today, which is great, the garden needs it, and i am knackered.
How can you lie there and think of England When you don't even know who's in the team
I'm sure Chicky and Mr. C are well on their way to Utrecht by now.
I hope they have a swift, and hassle-free journey.
Gorgeous weather here. Sunshine, and 24 degreesat the moment.
Tomorrow will be an absolute scorcher though, with temps of 29 degrees!
People are already being warned to take precautions if they are planning to go out and about, and I saw that organizers of a cylcle tour, which will take place tomorrow near here, have already added extra stops along the way, where the fire brigade will spray water on people who feel too hot, and where people can rest in the shade and fill up their water bottles before continuing the tour.
I'd better be off...
Got to go somewhere.
Have a lovely day everyone, whatever you're doing!
Just come in from planting up pots to post a photo of my yellow buddleia which is very ill.
Obelixx, I water them by hand with a hose pipe and a watering can. When I sell this Dordogne house and buy a smaller one I will have to control myself, cut down drastically on pots and flowerbeds! But we are selling our Norfolk cottage and buying a bigger one with a garden so I must be careful there too. Looking forward to having an English garden again, with a green lawn. Dordogne lawn is green because of the weeds, grass doesn't like the sun in summer. Can't say I blame it!
Going to Norfolk tomorrow for a few days to re-visit the new cottage and see the solicitor.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
