Hi Pat, absolutely infuriating that people are so stupid, when they undoubtedly know Australia is prone to wild fires. I hope they get severly punished for their stupidity!

I'm sure Chicky is cycling again by now.
Lovely to hear that she is having such a great time, in spite of yesterday's showers!
An old Dutch rhyme says that May rain will make you grow taller!
Zeeland is lovely, and Middelburg is a beautiful city. And of course there are the "Deltawerken", the great flood defences which were built after the 1953 floods. Those are one of the greatest examples of enginering in the world, and very impressive to see.
Weather should be good too, albeit a bit hot again, but with a nice sea breeze...
Hope the saddle isn't becoming a real pain in the...
Enjoy the last bit your holiday, and have a safe trip home!

    Morning all again.
Mercifully, I've had more sleep. Funny how , no matter how much sleep you've actually had, when there has been a 3 hour break in the middle, you're still tired. Well, I know I am.
Early morning mist burning off and it looks like it might be a lovely day. I might even get the grass cut.

@flumpy1, " groggy all day" sums it up perfectly. Sadly , it's almost every day .

Hosta do you go for a walk every day? I know my dad as the same problem since he's retired plus he has that restless leg syndrome but then he wakes my mum up who has no problem sleeping  :)

Yesterday I did a 12 hour shift at work with 12 deliveries ( 13 if you count the one where i forgot to give them their frozen stuff, and had to drive back before they noticed  oops) Lots of walking to and from van and humping heavy crates around. You think I'd be tired enough to sleep through, alas no.

Sounds like a good haul KP.  I have a Meyer lemon and the flavour is lovely.  Not as tart as normal lemons.   In the Belgian garden I grew our fig in a pot which I moved to the greenhouse for winter and eventually planted in there.  It went mad - but that's the new owner's problem.

Clouding over now after a sunny start and they're forecasting heavy stormy bits from 5pm so I've been and taken all the seedlings back into the polytunnel for safety as I won't be home from patchwork till 6:30.   Chocolate carrot cake cooling for patchworkers' coffee break.

Pat - do these idiots have training on how to set fires?   Huge fines for getting it wrong?  Hope hubby is OK.

Joyce - good luck with that clematis.  LP enjoy your space and g'kids.   LG - good to see you're OK and busy.

Hi to everyone and hope you all have a lovely day.

Sounds like a job where you can't wind down (if that makes sense) sometimes if I've had a really hectic day, I find it hard to switch off.

Morning all. It's looking like a glorious day here. The air has that 'washed clean' feel since the storm, although last night was muggy. Some housework this morning as a friend is coming over this afternoon, but then an afternoon chatting in the garden, I think.

Thanks @punkdoc . I didn't sow my ricinus until mid-April-ish and as I don't have a proper greenhouse they were indoors for quite a while and I don't think they got enough light. They look perfectly healthy but are no more than a foot tall, leggy and need support. Do you support yours? As long as I get some red leaves and they are over 2 foot in the end they'll do, but next year I will coddle and move on more rigourously I think.

Have a good Bank Holiday everyone, and if you're working / don't have a Bank Holiday, I hope it's lovely anyway!
