Potted up some narcissi and also muscari "Siberian Tiger". Emptied a couple of pots of cosmos, and checked over cutings of salvias, penstemons and hydrangeas. Green waste bin is full to the brim, as are the compost bins. Bin isn't collected until Tuesday.
Collected more pots of tender perennials together moved them all to the poly tunnel at the allotment will do the rest tomorrow. Been given an black plastic compost bin so will collect that also and put it next to my wooden compost bins, probable use it for fallen leaves.

We dug out an impressive, tall, flowering artichoke this morning - it was enormous and took a deal of pushing and shoving to remove, split into two and hoping that they will root again as we lost most of the roots in the dig.
We transplanted the last of the strawberry plants from the "shady" part of the veg patch (where we were told they would do well but only had a dozen or so fruits of 25 plants). OH carried on cutting hedges, a few more to cut next week.
This afternoon we went foraging for conkers - apparently they keep the majority of spiders outside - I am not convinced - are you?
Guernsey Donkey2 I heard that too, we have acorns, think they would work as well ha ha!
Took favourite planty Aunty to visit her sister, my Mother. Moved contents of compost bin to a flower bed for her, while they had a catch up , laughed myself silly at their reminiscenses, (we did all laughed together too), dismantled compost bin she no longer wants. Tactfully replanted a clematis not planted deep enough. Got told off for not wearing offered gloves and getting hands dirty. Got a nice perennial Oenothera with stripey narrow leaves, not at all like common biennis, with apparently pale creamy flowers from Plant Aunt. Can't wait to see what it will be like in flower.
I removed most of the bedding plants from my front door trough, re-potted an euphorbia ? "Diamond Frost" because it's not frost hardy, but left the pelargonium "Lord Bute" in as it is still flowering nicely. Then I planted 20 little pale blue violas in the trough (think I should have bought yellow ones as a bit more cheerful in the winter). I put 10 pinky/red pansies in a big terracotta pot in the front garden but fully expect to see them all eaten by slugs in the morning - I meant to get more violas but got seduced by the colour! I find that pansies get eaten but not the violas - anybody know why?

Have to stay clean for the rest of the day but, with any luck, will be potting on tomorrow and generally pottering about and getting mucky.
