  • No gardening again today knee still playing up it's been four days now. I'm getting garden depression :s

  • If you have the right weather, put your feet up and relax - enjoy the garden.  I am sure you feel frustrated at not being able "to do" HH but maybe it is time to sit back and take stock - make plans for when you are active again.
I didn't do very much outside today - just the necessary watering and had another social afternoon with family and friends here in our garden.

  • GD2 You know what it's like when you have a list as long as your arm and just want to get on :/

But I think the painkillers / anti inflammatoires may just be starting to work the swellings gone down a bit and the pain is not to bad this morning.

A friend has offer to take me to the allotment this morning and do the watering as long as I can bend my leg enough to get into the car.

Don’t overdo it @Hampshire Hog - get your leg elevated with an ice pack on after your work.
I need to sort my compost out today - one ‘tumbler’ is ready and one needs a mix, plus last year’s leaf mulch should be cooked. I haven’t been very good at keeping the compost bins topped-up this year but I will be doing a big leaf mulch when the Ash trees on my street shed their leaves.

  • Another social day in the garden - there won't be many more of those this summer, so precious.  Apart from that we watered, I planted out some knapweed seedlings in the new wild area and OH raked up leaves and pine needles - leaves to store, needles to go.

You have my sympathy! Between cataract op and Tendonitis in my hips there's not been much done! However I potted up several cuttings this morning.A bit of pain using the steps though!

  • Well I did get to the allotment just.

Don't think I've had such laugh in years you can just imagine two old boys one with a wonky leg and one with a dodgy back.

Went a little like this up a bit no no no right a bit STOP hang on I've twisted my back ooow ow OK lets go lift my leg no the other one ouch sorry and so on for about quarter of an hour and that was just to get me in  :)

Then there was getting out at the allotment then back in and out again at the pub then in again and one last time out at home.

Didn’t tackle the compost in the end as time ran away. I cleared the Sunflowers and hard-pruned one of my old Lavenders (only to green growth on the stems I want to keep and cut off a few waywood stems). I’m sure most people would cull the Lavender as it is leggy and sprawls into the path, but it gives such a brilliant display of flowers and wafts scent into the house, so it deserves to stay a bit longer. I also gathered several bunches of the drying Lavender to give to various loved-ones.
