Zoomer , going to try sweet corn again , it grows well on our allotment but stopped because rats 🐀 kept eating it just as it was ready , as they have a particular liking for it we where told ,  however , the rat population has been reduced , so let’s have another go
Good day at plot yesterday , planted cabbage 🥬 & broccoli 🥦 but put fleece around them as we are still getting slight frosts

We also bought some netting to turn the greenhouse frame into another fruit cage , hopefully?

Damson tree sounds like a nice addition to plot

We are still getting low temperatures during the night, which is really frustrating, as I want to plant out more stuff. Running out of room at home so will chance a tray of sweetcorn, it's beginning to get leggy on the dining room table.

Took some dwarf peas to plot yesterday so if they haven't been nibbled sweetcorn should be ok.

Not decided where to plant the damson tree.

The GH frame for a fruit cage is an excellent idea.

Zoomer I will have to try sweetcorn on kitchen paper forgot about that as half the time they do not germinate in compost
Went to Wyevale gc today collect extra points this weekend - got some bird food and plants - anemone blue, basket plants in sale 50% off, lobelia trailing and strawberry - need to take a strawberry back from last year they do have a plant guarantee for life on plants so hopefully they will swap it - lots of points will have been collected
They had lots of veg plants there and fruit
My GW mag arrived today so to look through that

Gg. I've started, a lot of stuff, on kitchen roll this year, with good germination rate.

Went to the plot this morning, it was ever so cold to start with but warmed up as the morning progressed so planted out more peas, swede and radish, they had been hardened off to the plastic GH with side up so can't image they will die of cold now but covered them so they get chance to bed in.

I think a lot of our plot holders watched GW on Friday as a  number have sown direct in seed beds.     ,
