Got a Marshalls seed catalogue they have new green manure tagetes ground controll that would be a pretty sight
Went to plot put up more fences and also a gate so lots of hammering with club and sledge hammer - took down sweet pea canes everything lot lower on plot now
Found out yesterday neighbour going to get more chickens next year as he was extending the run builders metal fences so far,
Allotment road filling in some holes with some gravel and sand spare from woolston garden project, also put in some wood to put slats up for compost bin - sorted out 2nd gate yesterday, really frosty today ice in water did feed birds
Gardengirl , our committee managed to get some Road Planning free last year which we put in the holes/ruts in the road , worked really well No real frost hear but I’m sure it’s coming as temperatures keep dropping 3 degrees this morning , then up to 6 mid day but it is January
Went to the plot today and was pleasantly surprised to see how much chard, spring greens and lettuce had grown in the GH. Slugs have got the better of the brussell sprouts but there is still kale and leeks to harvest.
I'm hopeful the chillies at home which are over wintering will pick up in the spring too. Plan to go again tomorrow to burn off some rubbish and complete more of the fence.
