Hello , both of us at plot today , lots harvested
And several more beds tidied up , 4 bags of weeds brought home for garden bin
A few French beans  harvested and plants pulled up and put into compost bin
Still filling in Diary for Sheffield , will be interested to see how much time we spend on plot
Used some weed membrane sheets on 4 beds just to see what it is like
Also used hedge trimmer on 4 lavender bushes , much quicker than shears
Last bed of main crop spuds 🥔 dug up , only half normal amount
Just having a beer in sun to recover
Best wishes to everybody  :sB) lovely sunny day

  • Had a wonderful sunny autumn day down at the plot and decided it was time to stArt clearing. Hundred of tomatoes still trying to ripen so I’ve decided to ripen at home and get processing into sauces and chutneys! Sunflowers succumbed to recent gales so have cut down and displays the heads for the birds to feast on. Still so much to keep harvesting! Endive, lettuce, beans, kale, radish, carrots and celery to name a few. Put some potatoes in pots into the greenhouse for (hopefully) Xmas spuds. Now enjoying a cuppa and watching the sun lower while the birds flutter around the feeders. Happy days! What an amazing first year!

How is everyone, not posted for a while been busy on plot and doing home improvements. Was promoted to general secretary on account no one else wanted to do it...the last one moved to Scotland so that has kept me out of mischief.
We"ve had the first frost here, it was ever so cold yesterday. Busy planting garlic and onions for next year. What a change in the weather, torrential rain and Hale today.
