O/ H did loads of harvesting , put a load of pattipans and marrows by allotment gate , when we left they had all gone

Thanks GWRS will get name on the trophys when take to shop,  weeds are growing quick - good you have an area to give away extra veg, I suggested it and no one wanted it  - think cause people have had crops stolen
strimmed grass in garden today got really long bit cold out weather has well changed
Did harvest one potato and had a massive crop from one spud planted and a whopper potato not had yet

Collected some horse manure today and took to plot to use later, harvested sweetcorn, some peas cucumber

Question for all - if you have pallet compost bins what do you line them with if any?

Question for all - if you cover soil in winter what do you use black plactic or weed matting fabric?

I line my pallets with a ground stabilisation fabric (not weed suppression fabric) you can get it from any good DIY or builders merchant.

I grow green manures generally over winter with the odd bit of weed suppressing material just held down with old 2lt drinks bottles filled with water.

Hants Hog like idea for bottles with water , will do that
I will put some green manure on a couple of beds
I have an old strawberry bed I am going to dig up and with cover that with plastic compost bags over winter , now held down with water filled bottles
I’m also going to try weed surpesent membrane
Hoping to spend weekend at plot  :)

Hope everyone is having a good season.
I noticed onions and garlic are in the shops, I've bought mine and plan to plant out this month.
I lined my compost pallets with what was to hand-heavy duty weed surpressant. My beds are covered with card board a layer of manure then black plastic.
