We are currently having a light shower, just when I've come in for a drink and have a load of washing in the line.   Supposed to be wall to wall sunshine and 24C today but we have clouds so it feels pleasantly cool after the last few days.   The local agricultural forecast says the soil is hotter than the air at the mo.

The Accuweather forecast says weather in London might break next week, going low 20s and showers starting.

Gloucester, sunny, 33 degrees according to outdoor thermometer but that is in full sun. Quite breezy which is pleasant, but it's drying the hanging baskets out!
No sign of any rain whatsoever, and we are doing the watering for 2 neighbours next week!

Dry here with sunny/cloudy spells and a nice breeze. Thankfully not so hot as yesterday.

  • That rain only lasted 15 minutes Herbaceous, the washing was still dry, and now we have blue sky and sunshine, so nothing to have got excited about.  Thank goodness for cool sea breezes, the temp here is a few degrees lower than most of you are experiencing.

I am sorry GD, my cold bath lasted about half an hour and now the heat rash is back! Pleased your washing was saved  :)  I am supposed to be going to Hampton on Friday, birthday treat. Not sure how much of a treat it will be  B)

  • I am sure there could be a nice cold beer, icecream or whatever takes your fancy during your visit to Hampton Court.  Just take it slowly, don't push yourself to see everything on show, remember it is a treat not a chore to endure.  I am looking forward to watching the highlights on the box this week after my other treat for the next two weeks......Wimbledon!

@Fire I hope you are right this part of NW London is absolutely parched. Not even a hint of rain here since late May.
Yes I remember 1976, me & some friends rode our motorcycles down to Spain & a local restaurant owner (that some of them already knew) said "why the hell have you come here your having a better summer at home". After 2 1/2 weeks we gave in &  "brought" the rain home with us all through France, one of my friends stopped off at his local on the last leg home & seeing his wet bike gear the landlady declared "he's brought the rain home" the whole pub emptied out & stood outside  he stood at the bar on his own having a quick "lemonade" before splashing home the final 1/2 mile.

If you are watching on Friday GD I will be the stooped, slow moving old lady hauling a trolley full of all sorts and looking like a bad spray tan job  ;)
