At last we have had some rain, just a couple of hours of steady rain, not enough to fill the water butts, but enough so as not to have to do any watering this evening. We hadn't had any rain for at least 4 weeks. Perhaps it will drift over to you overnight?
Stockton on Tees. The sea mist did not come inland this morning and the temperature is already reaching towards the 20's C. Another scorcher then, will pull everything out of the Fridge and sit in it. Frank.
Glad to report that the temperature has dropped to the mid 20's, with a nice breeze. Much more comfortable to be out in, this weather I could live with until September. One or two downfalls of rain would be great though.
Blue skies; 28. The Met Office long-range forecast comes out as no rain for July in my area for the rest of July. Obviously, the further out it gets, the higher the variability in the modelling. Ideal for some, but not for most gardeners. My drought-tolerant front garden is looking jaded.

It didn't rain last night after all! I'm so disappointed and wilting, just like my plants. over 31 at the moment and the roofers next door said it was 36 on the roof so they knocked off early.
Stockton on Tees, the sun is getting ready to blaze forth after the Sea mist retreated, the lawns were loving it as the dew settled, you could almost hear the sucking sound but they are still green, a mile up the lane they are brown. Cooler at 17C and right on cue the sun bursts into the room. Frank.
Warm and overcast, the wind has dropped and rain has just started. We do need rain, pity it is in the daytime though. However it will give me time to catch up on indoor jobs.
Rain? Whats that GD? I bought a greenhouse thermometer 'cos I want to get better and more organised in a small space but, apart from the fact I don't want to go in, I don't want to know!
Have to fill bird baths two or three times a day at the moment (although the starlings don't help, splashing everywhere) and now I'm off to sit in cold water.
