  • Sunny, no wind and calm, very warm.  We have the beep, beep of the foghorn in the background - it must be a sea mist as the visibility is very clear inland.

29+C and climbing ... there's the possibility of some rain, apparently ... and there were certainly some cumulonimbus building in the west ... now it's quite cloudy and getting muggier by the minute ... the swifts are screaming low so there are probably ants flying ... will the rain appear?

After the brief shower last evening it's been like a sauna all day here, Car Said it was 29 on way home from Capel, I thought it was supposed to be cooling down.

33 here and climbing. No energy to do anything. Thought it might rain last night but didn't happen.  Good news is that I mended a cracked bird bath with Milliput, filled it up and it seems to be holding.  Waiting to see if the birds use it.

Very warm today and as I nipped in for a shower before tea, the skies darkened and we had a heavy downpour. The washing was still on the line! The rain didn’t last long - in fact the paving looks dry again just an hour after.

Major downpours this afternoon in Tunbridge Wells.  Proper apocalyptic stuff.  Flash floods in town but some very happy plants and a refreshed lawn.  300L collected in the butts.  Amazing how fast they fill up.  Rain has never made me so happy before :D
