GWRS Long Distance Troop Ships through the Bay of Biscay in all weathers and then crossing the North Sea Harwich to Hamburg Hull to the Hook often four times a month took the edge off cruising for me although they were quite often one long party when we had Married families and Women Forces on Board, least said.?
Daughter loves the dancing and the people they meet, after one cruise they had met a couple into History which ended up in a long time friendship with me as we talked modern history. Flying as you say is a horror story to us who once walked out on the concourse and climbed stairs into the plane. OK I will get my coat.
Stockton is still getting the North Sea effect inland mist and sun later , we sat in the garden yesterday afternoon with a nice cool breeze, this morning the sun is burning the mist off still, it will get out.

  • Just a Little Rain.......that is what we had last night - not enough to soak the soil but enough to give our Golden Oldie a beautiful covering.

    Beautiful picture.
  • Ards Peninsula (south) has had many days (2 weeks?) when it was just too hot and sunny to garden.  Greenhouse hit 30 degrees with back and front doors wide open.  All you could do was sit and look at it and dash out and water after dinner time.  I've been watering 8pm-10pm for the last two weeks.  Last night it showered, I dug in to see how much, I think it has spared me an hour tonight with the hose, but didn't hit everywhere.....

My daughter who is 10 minutes away from me phoned to say she had torrential rain and thunder and to be prepared. All I got was a second or two of crocodile tears and then nothing. Out with the hose again later 😩.
