We are still awaiting the promised rain - I know it will come eventually but just get a little p.....d off with the forecasters telling us it will thunder with rain almost every day this week when all we have had is a few rumbles and flashes last Sunday and not enough rain to wet the soil. Yes GWRS, everything is growing well, thanks to our daily use of the hosepipe.
  • We've had well over an inch of rain in the last hour and a half. Seems like we're on the flight path of thunder cloud after thunder cloud today. Oh well, others have had it much worse in the past week - but I'd be really grateful if it would stop now, or at least give us a window before dark to go and check the damage at the allotment.

Been a real muggy day in Glos, cloudy. Was doing some pruning and realised my eyes were stinging due to the "glow" in them. Have now had rain since about 5pm and a couple of rumbles of thunder, but it's still really "close". Wish the air would freshen.

We've had some nice soft rain today. The forecast was heavy thunderstorms tonight but it is eerily quiet outside with not a breath of wind. Stood in the garden just now the only thing I can hear is the flapping of bat wings as they pass overhead.
If you can keep your head, while those around you are losing theirs, you may not have grasped the seriousness of the situation.

Torrential rain here last night in Glos, reminded me of the terrible weather we had back in 2007. Luckily l moved my stuff waiting to go in the garden into the greenhouse, l don't think they'd have survived! Still very humid this morning, think I'll be taking it easy.
