I probably do not need to water the plants this evening - nature’s watering can has done it for me.
Forecast saying dry and warm next week, for my week off.
My garden and I live in South Wales.

It rained at last in our bit of south Norfolk last night. Now we are back in France and there have been storms, raining now. Everything looked wet and the river is swollen. Phone was out of order. I rang Orange on my mobile, they said there had been an "incident". It is now working.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.

We're up in the clouds this evening, one of the real bonuses of living at a good elevation. Sun is all well and good but a summer's evening surrounded by bird song and soft rolling cloud is quite magical.
If you can keep your head, while those around you are losing theirs, you may not have grasped the seriousness of the situation.

Still no rain - the weather was warm, misty and calm - we have been told yet again to expect thunder and rain - however we are still having to water the plants - it's seems to be all or nothing. Yes the joys of the unpredictable English weather Frank - certainly not boring is it!

Glowering and sulking all day but no promised storm this evening. A sultry dinner in the garden, with blackbirds singing and nobody else out for fear of rain. Very peaceful with the clematis and roses nearly out. I just need to fix the fountain and all will be well.

*The soil looks like a mollusc chainsaw massacre has happened, but let's not mention the decimation.

I don't know where you live purplerain but you can certainly have some of our rain from down south. I am just wondering if we'll ever get a summer with any amount of sunshine. Even when it's warm it's stayed grey and thundery. It's disappointing as this time last year everything in the garden was bursting into life for the summer but everything seems to be struggling and so far behind this year. This weather is really dull and depressing. I need some sunshine and so do my plants!!!
  • Hopefully next week will be better - just don't look at today. As GD says - all or nothing.
