A beautiful day here - full sun, very little wind and the rain we had last night has done nothing for the garden or the water butts. After plenty of thunder & lightening last night we are disappointed to find out that the rain lasted just 20 minutes. I know I shouldn't complain but the watering we are having to do each evening is getting beyond a joke!
So thats it for the day I think - thunderstorm and torrential rain, still haven't managed to get the raised beds set up but all baby plantlets safe and sound.

After days of warm & humid weather, lots of crash bang wallop in the evenings at last we have steady rain, could have done with it earlier in the weekend but welcome now. @herbaceous- re the Robins if you move slowly & quietly they will get used to you going in & out so you will be able to get your tools.
I'm down the road from AB and yes, at last torrential rain and a proper, overhead, full on storms, with proper lightning and crashes that shake the house. The weather has been sulking and brooding and not talking to anyone for weeks. Now it's letting rip and flinging the crockery about. My garden needs the rain and I adore storms, so it's my kind of day.
So its most of London then? We've had some good storms and quite a lot of rain here during the last week (nr Heathrow) but my husband used to say with all the jets LHR has its own weather!
Thanks for the robin tip AB, sadly getting in and out of my 'shed' would be difficult to do quietly, slowly is not a problem. Its very old and listing to starboard so the door makes a dreadful sound on the paving when you open it. Which you have to do forcefully! I'm just pleased I had my video camera as they are so quick I wouldn't have seen them going in and out otherwise - then they might have thought the end of the world had come.
Anyway Fire is it the water you like? or the noise or the electricity? or just the drama! I'm happy as it is all good for my potatoes, lightning and rain

After the promise of more storms - nothing. In fact the water butts on still on the side of empty. It has been a misty day so far with sun most of the time, the Queen Victoria (ship) cancelled yet again due to the weather - I feel sorry for the passengers who have lost a destination from their expensive trips whilst we have been basking in sunshine.
