At last, a night of steady, soft, pattering rain.  Yesterday I planted nasturtiums in the little rectangles of dirt round two of the pavement trees down my road.  There are five trees, all different, and my neighbours and I maintain little flower gardens round them.  The ground was so dry, I gave them all a can of water.  Those two were so dry, the water just ran off.  I spent ten minutes forking holes in it and watered again, it didn't help much.  I poked the sturtiums in anyway, I've got plenty more seedlings if they perish.  So last night's rain was most timely!

Cloudy and slightly cooler yesterday which was a relief. It looks good so far at 8 am this morning and the forecast here for the next fortnight is wall to wall sunshine which is good, but no rain, not so good, as the soil is very dry and I have had to start watering pots and new plants.

Yesterday was awful, cold, grey, very windy and mizzle all day. Seems as if today is going to be better, not so cold and the sun is trying to come out.

Stockton on Tees, we appear to have anchored the sun to our area, it is bright with blue skies yet again and temperature of 15C probably getting warmer that is quite tropical to us NE folk.

Cool northerly wind although sunny and blue skies all day, that wind is lowering the temperature here.

West Sussex wall to wall sunshine, husband gave up painting the BBQ too hot, even the dog has conked out.  Glad I cut the border edges yesterday late afternoon. Looks really good for the weekend, now what a choice football or wedding? Na pottering in the garden me thinks🌻

Same here Allotment Boy - we have had no rain for 7 days now, and none predicted for the next week either - so although it isn't red hot here the sun and breeze are drying everything out and the water butts are empty again.

it's been sunny all day here, but not warm indoors! I felt decidedly chilly watching the Royal wedding,it was nice to go outside after for a warm up!😁

Have had a few days of sunshine with thunder rumblings in the evenings. Yesterday was hot and sunny, but the heavens opened in the evening so the garden has had a good soak.
Today is cooler and cloudy so far.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
