I’m pleased to say we still get the drains cleared and gutters cleaned regular
North Kesteven Council is the area we live
  • How i agree with you Liriodendron,if proper hedging and ditching was still done we wouldn't get all these flooded roads and blocked drains.
When I lived in Brittany, everyone was responsible for their hedges and roadside ditches, all ditches led to a small lake in each village,so no flooded roads there.

Another perfect summer's day, sparse white cloud, blue sky, sun and about 18C at the moment.

Mixed feelings as I would love to be in the garden but promised to mind my grandson so his parents can dress up for a SecretCinema. Happy though 'cos minding him and the dog at 28C would have been difficult and draining!

Still might get in the garden as SecretCinema was cancelled Thursday due to flooding! Waiting to hear.

Beautiful sunshine today after yesterdays torrential downpour 🤗
  • Breezy, not at all cold, some sunshine, some cloud - a typical summer's day.

Rain has really set in for the weekend. Think I just saw some lightning but no rumbles yet...
My garden and I live in South Wales.
  • It's the end for us Aunty Rach!!
It's cats and dogs up here in the valley, the street is like a river, and my poor Daniel Deronda had just put out some more blooms, which are now hanging like wet washing!!

Finally we have had some useful rain. It's rained overnight - it has managed to penetrate 2 inches deep, apart from under the trees of course. Considering whether to plant some new stuff or just pot on for now.
