I don’t know where to start.
Hosta what happened to those lovely Hostas? Have I skipped past some info?
You would be welcome to our 29 c, but it’s a little much for me to be gardening in that temp.
lilyp, which suburb were you in? I would think removal of trees would probably be a decision of the house owners, not a government decision. Gum trees are a nuisance in house yards because of falling branches, without even thinking about bushfires.
Obelixx, the counting is doing my head in. I’m  not only trying to keep the stripes level, but increasing stitches in the sleeves. Whatever was I thinking of, trying to use up odds and ends, instead of just buying new supplies in one colour.😡 dumbo!
    Have a good party Wonky.😻

Ok. But why are they not there anymore?  Has the weather destroyed them?

Wow it is difficult to keep up with this thread!  The short pages make it even more difficult to catch up.  Hosta those hostas looked amazing last year.  I've never had any awoken at this time of year.  I only have two hostas but both don't rise for a little while yet (although one has shoots already).

My hostas are only starting to poke through too.
Temperature is a bit better than yesterday. Should reach a dizzy 12C.  More summer bulbs to be planted.
    Enjoy your evening Wonky.

Hi folks,  finally went to sleep at about 6.00 ish and got up at 9.00.  No hostas showing here either, no growth on the wisteria and everything else is miles behind.  Looking back at my garden diary last spring was dry with plenty of heat and sunshine.  I remember moaning that the weather didn't suit my astilbes.  They should certainly do well this year.
Have a good day Wonky, we have friends dropping in later with Secondborn and the family so will finish tidying up.  Potted up some of my cuttings in the night but ran out of compost.  Thought it was a bit much to go out at 4.00 a.m and drag another bag in so didn't finish the job.  Dining room back to normal now as apart from some seedlings on the window ledge they are all in the greenhouse/cold frame.

Lovely Hosta  photos Hosta, it never ceases to amaze me how those tiny shoot break through, and the red colour is beautiful on the bare earth.  Well done to keep them through the winter, they are very hardy plants.

Pat, a combination of a mild spring last year and a harder winter this year. They'll bounce back in no time.
