Good morning! Lovely to hear from you, DD. You are doing an amazing job and sound really established. I think New Dawn is one that I took several cuttings from at my parents' house before it was sold - I don't know for sure though as they always called it a Peace Rose. It's not a Peace Rose though! They're only a foot or so tall now, and obviously not grafted. I'm looking forward to seeing how it does.

Yvie and LP, glad you've had good times with grandchildren - and now you can have a rest!

Looks like another lovely day here. Much cooler, but still sunny so probably an easier temperature to work in. The weekend was filled with pottering, deckchairs on the lawn and meals outside - it will be a bit of a shock to have spring rather than midsummer.

Wonky that planter looks great. You are a very quick worker - it would have taken me ages. What's going in it? Pat that cardi is so gorgeous - I hope that once one child grows out of it, it has lots of others to be passed on to, it's so lovely. Dove, I hope you have a less frustrating day today.

    See you all later.

Thanks LG. I was just using up the left over wool from various projects over several years. At least I’ve reduced the stash a bit. 😄

    Hi all.

Back to cool and cloudy today, shame, I was getting used to the sun.

OH has been summoned to see the boss today, she thinks they are going to push her to stay. Apparently, she is invaluable, but obviously not enough to be promoted.
They don't think she will leave, but she is very p####d off, so I think / hope she will.

Hoping to do some potting on today, warm weather has made all the seedlings put on a growth spurt.

Loads of power to Mrs P's elbow!   Hope at the very least they offer a huge pay rise that she can then take while looking around for better prospects.

Hosta night for me - how do I get OH to snore less?   With all this lovely weather it's impossible to get the kitties in at bedtime so yet another mousey from Minstrel in the middle of the night.

Cooler here today so I need to rig up a longer cloche with closed ends to keep my toms warm at night after having to plant them out to save them from being cooked in the polyT.   However, patchwork this pm so it'll have to wait till I get back.  Coconut rough cake baking for the ladies and I have some fast sewing to do as I have been so busy in the garden I didn't get my homework done.  Potting on for me tomorrow, after the dentist.....  Last of the metal fillings being swapped out.   Lovely.

Hope you get a quiet day today LP to rest and reflect on happy visits.   Great to see you DD and glad things are going well.   Hope you find your roses but have to say there are better perfumed climbers than New Dawn.   Good carpentry WW.   Hosta - interesting but I can do without images like that before I've had my second coffee.

Greetings all.  Have a lovely day.

Lovely to see you and hear the news DD. Yiu deserve to reap rewards as you work so hard.
hosta if you have had that lump for two weeks it may be worth showing it to your practice nurse. My Oh had a wee lump right in his collar line. Drove him nuts was a benign cyst which was easily removed and gave instant relief
panic call from firstborn Nanny didn’t turn up this morning, she has sunburn!! I am too far away to help

That'd be my plan  ... apart from anything else, it's always easier to get a job while you've got a job, if you get my drift ... makes you look stable/reliable etc as well as all the other things you need to be, no one wants an employee who acts on emotion rather than reason ...  an income is always good too  ;)

    Too right Dove.
I have warned her about the change in lifestyle that may ensue. :)
At least we are not able to take exotic holidays, at the moment, so my only spending is garden related.

I applied for an internal promotion once. The boss couldn't decide between two internal candidates, so they gave the job to an external candidate(NP), on the basis he would bring a different viewpoint to the company. In the first week, NP upset all the managers, and I had the offer of another job elsewhere. The same day I was offered the job, the new person "left" as his outlook was too far removed from the owner. It was put to me that I could jobshare the promotion with the other internal candidate , and we could both still do our normal jobs as well. I said No, in that case, I was off, the other one could have it.  I got the promotion.
Sometimes you have to go with the gut feeling and assert yourself. but it is easier to put up with the old job, until a new one comes along. I have to point out that women of a certain age become invisible.

Hi folks,  Been out in the garden all morning.  Dug up a viburnum, it's been a bit dodgy for a couple of years but I was hoping it would recover, anyway decided enough was enough and whipped it out.  Planted out a few new perennials and did a bit of weeding.  Now having a well earned cuppa while I catch up on here.
    Have a good day everyone.
