@Allotment Boy  ... glad I cheated and bought some Little Gem plugs when were visiting MIL in S. Lincs ... they're looking happy ... some under a cloche and some unprotected just to spread the harvesting out a bit.  I've done the same with some Cos lettuce too.   o:)

New satnav has arrived and is being charged up ... apparently that could take all day and half of the night.

Hosta, I discouraged OH from turning the heating on ... he's put his thermals on and I've sent him down to W'rose on his bike ... that'll warm him up  ;)

Whoops!  I meant to post this here but put it on the Strange Object thread by mistake ... I've copied it here but it may give you a sense of deja vu

Heard this morning from Wonky that Papa Womble has been in a crash ... a car came out of a side road straight into him and pushed him into a field and he rolled over ... his car is written off but he's totally unhurt thank goodness ... he drives a Clio like Wonky, and to start with it unnerved her that his car was written off and she felt vulnerable and wanted to change her car ... but I pointed out that modern cars are made to crumple to absorb the impact and the inside is a steel cage with airbags to protect the driver ... now she says she's going to be grateful to the designers and engineers who designed a car that kept Papa Womble safe  D

Glad to hear that pappa womble is OK Dove.

I'm sitting here drinking hot chocolate to warm me up.  Can't believe this weather I'm so fed up with it.

That is a good idea.  It's getting very draughty here and I still have to go and water all those pots.

I expect papa Womble is feeling very shaken.   He may need a hot chocolate too to help with the aftermath.  I hope they've got the culprit for dangerous driving and all the damages.

Yes she's admitted total responsibility. Apparently he was almost stationary cos he'd slowed and was letting a large slow tractor and trailer finish pulling out of a turning and she just shot straight out of the turning behind the tractor without stopping to check for traffic. She must've been really shifting to roll his car over into the field opposite!
