His morning Hosta 😀 sorry you had a cr#ppy Nights sleep don't be tempted to cat nap and hopefully you will go out like a light tonight! Dove, I'm going to the Laxfield market on the fifth of may with my friend Laura, it starts about 9am and goes on until lunch, it's held on the church plane, the royal oak pub and in the church. Just watching gw before I go out and stay out in the garden for the rest of the day...yippee!!!! Pdoc, totally agree about those planters but I did like his new scarf 😉
Good chap Hosta! 😀 I have told you that I have trouble sleeping as my brain never stops thinking! I'm now listening to Agatha Christie audio books, works a treat!
Gosh I've been up.a long time... went on a dawn chorus walk with the London Wildlife Trust. It was in a section of ancient woodland near here and I left home at 4.20am. Unfortunately, in my worry about disturbing OH I accidentally got up at 3am (misread the clock)! This was especially galling as I'd only switched my light off at 1am.
Anyway, it was fab and I really enjoyed it. We heard or saw loads of different birds and I was home again at 7, just before anyone else surfaced. Lovely start to the day.
Enjoy your weekend, Wonky. How are you making the planters?
Hope you have a lovely day too, BL. If I remember correctly you haven't been too lucky with the Norfolk weather on the whole? A perfect time to visit this time!
Sorry to hear about the auriculas, Chicky- that's a real shame. It has been blistering though, it must be a shock for little plants . I hope a few pull through. Thanks for the congrats too .

Morning LG 😊 beautiful morning for a stomp! Love it before anyone else has surfaced! Great to read you are enjoying your course, well done on first lot of exams and best of luck for the ones to come! Plantar making should be straightforward, I have small pallets that will make two sides then I'm just going to fill in the gaps with slats 😊 planning a bin cover at a later date that will double as climber trellis.
Thanks Wonky. Pallets already the right size for the sides is good - I was wondering if you were going to have to dismantle them completely, OH made a wood store from pallet wood a couple of years ago and taking them apart took WAY longer than building the thing! Have a lovely day - and I don't think we've seen any garden photos for a while... How is the privacy-pergola working out? And did you ever get a trachelospermum jasminoides for it?

Hello. Hosta night for me. Awake for ages cos OH was in fine snoring mode then, just dropping off when Minstrel came in telling the whole world she had a mouse so Cosmos and I went to see. Finally managed to separate live and frisky mouse form kitties and release it onto the annex roof thru the bathroom window. Assumed it would find its way down the wisteria. 2:30 when I got back to bed and Cosmos decided he needed intensive cuddles.... And so it went on and I gave up and read. Turned out my Kindle light at 5am and then alarm went at 7:15. Lovely.
Plant fair day today so 2 decorative wine boxes and 3 cakes delivered by 9 am then helping to set up and did a quick tour taking photos of it all. No further help needed form us so HRT - 11 more tomato plants including 4 San Marzano for cooking and freezing, a fuchsia for OH cos he liles them, hosta June cos I like it, a Japanese fern, white flowered brunnera, white flowered cornflower with deep purple centre and a very creamy, holly leaved looking ajuga. 7 huge pink crinum bulbs and some "tuberosa" which have scented white flowers. Chappy not strong on proper names. 30 mixed fressias. We wanted a Doyenne de Comice pear and a new magnolia but none there. Great atmosphere and some lovely plants but no hosta Sum and Substance either.....
Home now to have lunch and catch up on sleep as we're dancing this evening. OH will go back later to help with clear up and I may go too if I've slept.
Glad your back's sorted itself out Busy. Enjoy your gardening WW. LG - sounds lovely but way too early for me. Chicky - I cooked a couple of my baby toms cos I didn't take the lids off fast enough. Frustrating. Hope lunch is good.

Good morning all , lovely couple of warm sunny days , a good day in Garden yesterday, thought G/W was good , anybody tried those “wooden things “for making pots out of Newspaper ? Off to see Lincoln City FC shortly and this evening a concert in Local Threatre Hope all’s well with everybody
Haven't seen GW yet ... I've recorded it ... but a friend makes origami paper pots, like this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2ou-3ZBI_ac I'm going to give it a try ... problem is newspapers are all changing to the 'tabloid' shape, even the 'non-tabloid' ones so there may be some adjustment to do.

Hi folks, had a busy morning baking cakes for Jonah's birthday party tomorrow. Can't believe he's 2. Planning to spend some time in the garden this afternoon. Have some verbenas to pot up and want to split the last of the cannas. Also have some summer bulbs that need planting before it's too late. Glad you back is better BL. Catch you all later.
