I don't know if things have changed, but didn't it use to be that you had to make or receive , at least, one phone call every 3 months to keep the number active
No, it hasn't changed and exactly what you suggest Pauline happened to us at Christmas time. Kept a PAYG phone in the car for emergencies but when we charged and tested it (thankfully rather than needing it for an emergency) it didn't work. The chap in the phone shop said if you don't use it for 3 months the number gets recycled. It's understandable and easy to get a new one but does makes you realise how quickly time slips by if you're not watching.

Afternoon all, been catching up on sleep this morning so feeling a little better now. Had a walk round the sodden garden and pulled a few weeds but far too wet to do much. I might split another couple of canna's if I can summon up the energy.
Must admit I use my mobile phone quite a lot. I have a plan that costs me £9 a month and it means I can receive lovely photos of the grandchildren when I'm away, stay in touch with you lot, and I also use Wayz which is a great app that guides you round trouble spots when you drive anywhere. It also get me home if I get lost in the middle of nowhere. Never used to embrace the phone only used to use it for emergencies but I've grown to like it. I don't use it when I'm with other people though and don't like to see it being used in cinemas/restaurants/theatres etc.
Evening! Skipped home tonight (ok - not actually skipped) as off work for 10 days now!!! Massive list of garden bits to do plus a trip to the West Wales coast. Can't wait for that sea air! Might start the vacation mood tonight with a chippy tea and bottle of wine. Hope you all in good spirits and looking forward to the weekend, whatever you are up too.
Have a great time whatever you're doing AR. I hope you get some decent weather for it.
I've been out trying to cut the grass but got stuck trying to turn in a tight corner and getting pranged on provençal cane shoots. Had to get OH to help lift the mower off! Then I was trundling happily around, mulling over garden projects, as you do, when the flipping belt came off! All that rain has made the grass very juicy and this mower doesn't like it and slips its belt. Not something I can fix and OH is now out with the dogs.
I've been round all mys pots with smelly pelleted manure and have found a swapped plant I can't identify so will post a pic. Came in for a drink and there's an email form the RHS about Britain in Bloom being on TV this year. That'll be interesting to see. Expecting lots of entertaining stereotypes. BBC2 6:30pm from Monday 16th. I've started a thread so non-Forkers see it.
Now to do something with a chicken which we shall enjoy with 2 or maybe 3 glasses of wine as we do for weekend meals. News out today says more than 5 glasses a week will shorten my life by 6 months. Ha! Since when were Forkers average?

Late dinner after being distracted in the garden - yeah! - then long long FB chat with Possum who was making up for not feeling chatty last weekend.
Just watched GW which I recorded, as always. Must be time for bed - and yes, part of our family chat concerned OHs plans for mucho BBQing and eating outdoors but not quite yet Joyce.
