Welcome Firelilly! I look forward to learning how your garden copes with the different challenges.
It's cold here. Not proper cold like our international friends have but grim gritty English cold. I am still to work out why I could walk all day in Norway when it was minus lots and only want a light weight jacket on yet here it's 12 coats 15 pairs of socks and a thick hat just to walk the dog.
Overcast just now, the sun is trying hard to come out just 3° at the moment.
I get a few hours off today as my OH has PA so they will be off out spending all my money OH maintains that when my wallet if full its ours when empty its mine.
I had an excellent day yesterday, when everyone I phoned was IN for a change - so I've found an electrician to fit us new storage heaters at the cottage, ordered more recycling bags (also for the cottage), discovered that the coal I ordered & paid for in October (again, for the cottage) wasn't delivered - but at least I got a grovelling apology and a promise it would come ASAP.
And - wonder of wonders - I persuaded the roofer who promised to come in "late summer" last year to mend our leaky roof, to come and do some temporary repairs. He turned up with his long ladders (carrying them up the 51 steps - no room to drive his van down the road!) and has worked out a plan of action. I fear it will be expensive... but we need a dry house.
Now today I'm going to my first U3A photography meeting, armed with a memory stick with a few of my more wacky pictures to show them. It'll be interesting to get their comments and suggestions for improvement.
Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.

Got back to sleep around 6am, but at least the woodburner is still going.
We've got an icing sugar dusting of snow falling.
Heating oil due today . I hope earlier rather than later.
