Morning Dove image I've just been to fill the peanut and sunflower heart feeders and saw five goldfinches perched on my verbenas, watching from kitchen window now with second coffee, classic FM and purple dressing gown with the company of Harrie and Flatters who by the way, also enjoy bird watching! image

Morning all. Just had second cuppa in bed with cats eyeing me up for a second breakfast!

I love the Lavender 'factory' Pat!

Punkdoc - I hope that was a one-off - must have been very unpleasant and unsettling. Make sure you seek out some relaxation this weekend -I know you doctor-types scoff at aromatherapy, yoga, meditation etc but you can do all that by just being in the garden - and just call it gardening!

Hope everyone else has a quality day - be it relaxing, being productive or doing something you enjoy.

Don't forget The Six Nations Rugby starts today (c'mon Wales!).

My garden and I live in South Wales.

Yes Wonky. The lavender perfume has filled the room all day. image The biggest problem is that I’ve only just started - there’s heaps more to harvest. That’s only two plants - there’s about 50 more plants yet. Whatever were we thinking about when we planted them about 20 years ago. I didn’t anticipate how ageing affects us.  My back and finger tips ache just to think about it. The other side of it is that they’ll be hanging in the hallway for about 3 months before they can be safely dried enough to store.

Duh!  ... in blue ..... how did that happen .......... not enough coffee obviously .............. although now I think about it, in bloom would work and is more appropriate for us isn't it image

    Intravenous please!

Sun is out and I need some oomph to get out there and do something.

Pat...what do you do with all the dried lavender?

I hope the perfume is relaxing for you Pat.  We never harvested ours, just left it a sa low hedge at the top of retainer wall and enjoyed seeing it buzzing with all sorts of insects from bees to hover flies.  I shall definitely be planting more here when I get organised.

Miserable weather today so I've enjoyed a lie-in having a long snuggle with Minstrel who doesn't often ask for one then reading, drinking coffee and cuddling Rasta and Cosmos and then having a boisterous cuddle with Bonzo.

OH has fetched me some more big fat and insect blocks but even the birds think it's too wet to come and feed.   It won't last so I'm making the most of the rain to have another pottering day indoors.

Pdoc - I hope you've warmed up now and feel better.

Wonky - glad the turmeric is working, and the rest too.

Busy - hope you're feeling better today.

Greetings to everyone else.  Hope you're having a good day and enjoying the lengthening daylight.

    Morning all.

    Think I'm getting a cold.

What will you do with all that dried lavender, Pat? Do you ever flavour food with it?

Wonky, tummy bug came from daughter 1 who we stayed with at the weekend. Some of the grandchildren caught it from her, I was a few days later so must have got it from baby grandson. OH had it yesterday. Luckily it's a mild quick one.

I have arthritis in the hands, not too bad except for 1 finger that I call my fat finger. The middle joint swells up and I can't bend it, hurts. Nuisance when I can't get gardening gloves on. When I don't do gardening the swelling goes down, it looks almost normal at the moment. When in England I went to a health food shop to ask about turmeric, it was so expensive I backed out in a hurry! I don't trust medical things bought on the Internet, read too much about them not having the right ingredients.
