Back from tennis ... a good game and knee still in one piece and not very painful and ..... we beat the Demon Server in both his service games and I won my service game
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
Beware of those glads Hosta. I bought one bag of about 15 bulbs a few years ago and planted them in a large pot. The bulbs multiplied and also babies self-seeded. I divided and spread and gave away and brought the pot with me. I now have babies popping up in adjacent pots and spares planted out in borders and more still in the pot.
Fine so far as I do have space and they flower late, providing food for the biggest bees I've ever seen.
Sunny here but chilly. The knees have gone down a bit and are changing colour to a luminous mustard shade. Good job it isn't shorts weather! Too cold for gardening and still wet but I have a new limequat to pot up and a few dahlias I bought when we were water butt hunting yesterday. Starting to get twitchy now so I hope both knees and weather are fit for gardening next week.
Love the cardi Dove and burnt orange is the only orange I like. Disturbingly, I found myself considering some 2 tone orange dahlias yesterday so the sun must be getting to me.
Lovely views Pat. Hosta and Lyn - any plans for another trip to Rosemoor for some pics?
I hope everyone is well.

Obelixx ... we have a burnt orange velvet cushion ... it looked just fabulous with the yarn when I was knitting the cardi ... it was the perfect colour to go with that green and John Lewis haberdashery had the exact colour
I don't do orange flowers ........... except for that amazing trailing begonia I had a couple of years ago ... oh, and nasturtiums ......... and calendulas ........... maybe I do do orange flowers after all .

The big clump of hemerocallis here is orange but has burnt orange streaks so not too bad. In the wrong place tho so it has to go. Might save a scrap. I like burnt orange crown frits but not the yellows or bright oranges.
I don't do begonias at all......or impatiens.

It seems the curling has stopped for the day so OH, feeling stir crazy, has taken the dogs out to play in the garden. He was planning to check the tyres on the mower but now I can hear its dulcet tones trundling round the grass.

I know what you mean about 'plasticky' ... but this one sort of wasn't ... it was really quite light and ephemeral ... but you really had to see it It was the luminous glow in the evening light that got me
